Demands on people's profiles...Just a few thoughts

I'm a relative newbie on here so still finding my feet, although I was on HotMatch.com a number of years ago, with some very good success I may add.

Looking through the profiles I see some profiles saying you must have this, you must have that before contacting me, etc.

One of them I've seen is 'you must have a testimonial'. So my question is, how is that possible when you're a newbie? Bit of a catch 22 if you ask me.

You can't get a testimonial without meeting someone, and you can't meet someone without a testimonial. Hmmm
