An Introduction To Who I am

My username is an abreviated version of my Y name, simply because it's kind of unique just like me (strikinglyfamiliar) I have been a member of the online community for quite some time, and you may see that I span the gambit from philosophy to poetry, from sensual to sexually explicit. I'm not here to please everyone, but it's not bad to simply please someone.. right? So, I hope you have the time, and enjoy what I have to say. You don't have to agree with me, that's your right anyway. For now I'll say adiue, but keep your eyes open for something brand new.

As you may have noticed, not all my writings are sexual/sensual in nature. I just enjoy writing, and also enjoy reading and analyzing what I read. I don't always write about what I read, but I DO analyze it. I do hope that people take the opportunity to read what I write, and maybe even comment on it. I don't believe that everyone has to agree with my observations, but a good writer must also be able to take constructive critisism as well, and can't get better without it. SO please feel free to say what you will about my works.

I am what some might call a contradiction. I have done my best to be stable in most every facet of my life. I was married for 12 years, which in retrospect should have only been 6, but I didn't want to be that percentage of the population and don't we all WANT things to work. So after 12 years, we decided to split, and go our seperate ways. With no , and a few assests, I gave everything to her, and walked away. Since then I have been in and out of several relationships, between 6 months to 2 years each, I found that I was more and more intrigued by what pleases a woman, and thanks to a couple, started doing my "homework" which lead to some experiences my "virgin" mind had not even imagined and opened up new and more interesting ways of thinking.
Now unshackeled from the bonds that youth and inexperience hold fast, I have my own little fetish. I actually get excited the more a woman orgasms (actually have had a few count, or loose count trying). You might say I read too much for my own good, or maybe to my betterment who knows. That being said, give me a subject, and I'm sure I can at least have a "working" knowledge of it soon.
As I've gotten older, and hopefully a little wiser I also found a talent for writing (to a point). I have 3 published poems, a 's short story, a couple of essays, and many blogs to my credit. I have an unpublished book of poems that you will find pulled from and posted in my blogs. I used to try to write one a day, but for now I write when I have the urge (one day I will finish that damned book )
I am sure I have a lot more to say but this at least is a beginning. I hope you enjoy my varied writings, comment if you wish, and send mail if you have suggestions or would like to know more about me. Being only a Standard Member I can't send out emails, but can respond, and do my best to do so.

Have you ever had one of those days that you just need to get away, that you want to run off to the woods/mountains and scream your head off.... release it good, it allows the soul a relief of weight that would otherwise smother one. I seem to be having one of THOSE days but I am strong, and capabile of overcoming any adversity, therefore my customers will NEVER know... I will simply vent here where I feel safe enough to do so. Thank You For Allowing Me This Venue To Do So

Do you ever have one of those days when no matter what, everything just seems to irritate you.... from having to deal with really stupid customers and co-workers to even your friends... Some times I think I just need to run off to the woods by myself, and let loose with some good ole redneck anger management... speaking of... the gun shoot is coming up in a month or two.... hmmmmmmmmmm how about renting a mini-gun and firing off about 500 rounds of ammo (only about $300) sounds like fun to me! (hell, I've spent more than that just going to Vegas for a couple of days, and/or even St. Louis.... I do love to travel)

My father sent this to me in an email, and I HAD to share it wherever I could. Please read this, and I hope you have as much admiration and pride as I did when I read it.

It's the cup of brandy that no one wants to drink.

Recently, in Fort Walton Beach , Florida , the surviving Doolittle Raiders gathered publicly for the last time.

They once were among the most revered men in the United States . There were 80 of the Raiders in April 1942, when they carried out one of the most courageous and heart-stirring military operations in this nation's history. The mere mention of their unit's name, in those years, would bring tears to the eyes of grateful Americans.

Now only four survive.

After Japan 's attack on Pearl Harbor, with the United States reeling and wounded, something dramatic was needed to turn the war effort around.

Even though there were no friendly airfields close enough to Japan for the United States to launch a retaliation, a daring plan was devised. Sixteen B-25s were modified so that they could take off from the deck of an aircraft carrier. This had never before been tried -- sending such big, heavy bombers from a carrier.

The 16 five-man crews, under the command of Lt. Col. James Doolittle, who himself flew the lead plane off the USS Hornet, knew that they would not be able to return to the carrier. They would have to hit Japan and then hope to make it to China for a safe landing.

But on the day of the raid, the Japanese military caught wind of the plan. The Raiders were told that they would have to take off from much farther out in the Pacific Ocean than they had counted on. They were told that because of this they would not have enough fuel to make it to safety.

And those men went anyway.

They bombed Tokyo , and then flew as far as they could. Four planes crash-landed; 11 more crews bailed out, and three of the Raiders died. Eight more were captured; three were executed. Another died of starvation in a Japanese prison camp. One crew made it to Russia .

The Doolittle Raid sent a message from the United States to its enemies, and to the rest of the world: We will fight. And, no matter what it takes, we will win.

Of the 80 Raiders, 62 survived the war. They were celebrated as national heroes, models of bravery. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer produced a motion picture based on the raid; "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo ," starring Spencer Tracy and Van Johnson, was a patriotic and emotional box-office hit, and the phrase became part of the national lexicon. In the movie-theater previews for the film, MGM proclaimed that it was presenting the story "with supreme pride."

Beginning in 1946, the surviving Raiders have held a reunion each April, to commemorate the mission. The reunion is in a different city each year. In 1959, the city of Tucson , Arizona , as a gesture of respect and gratitude, presented the Doolittle Raiders with a set of 80 silver goblets. Each goblet was engraved with the name of a Raider.

Every year, a wooden display case bearing all 80 goblets is transported to the reunion city. Each time a Raider passes away, his goblet is turned upside down in the case at the next reunion, as his old friends bear solemn witness.

Also in the wooden case is a bottle of 1896 Hennessy Very Special cognac. The year is not happenstance: 1896 was when Jimmy Doolittle was born.

There has always been a plan: When there are only two surviving Raiders, they would open the bottle, at last drink from it, and toast their comrades who preceded them in death.

As 2013 began, there were five living Raiders; then, in February, Tom Griffin passed away at age 96.

What a man he was. After bailing out of his plane over a mountainous Chinese forest after the Tokyo raid, he became ill with malaria, and almost died. When he recovered, he was sent to Europe to fly more combat missions. He was shot down, captured, and spent 22 months in a German prisoner of war camp.

The selflessness of these men, the sheer guts ... there was a passage in the Cincinnati Enquirer obituary for Mr. Griffin that, on the surface, had nothing to do with the war, but that emblematizes the depth of his sense of duty and devotion:
"When his wife became ill and needed to go into a nursing home, he visited her every day. He walked from his house to the nursing home, fed his wife and at the end of the day brought home her clothes. At night, he washed and ironed her clothes. Then he walked them up to her room the next morning. He did that for three years until her death in 2005."

So now, out of the original 80, only four Raiders remain: Dick Cole (Doolittle's co-pilot on the Tokyo raid), Robert Hite, Edward Saylor and David Thatcher. All are in their 90s. They have decided that there are too few of them for the public reunions to continue.

The events in Fort Walton Beach this week will mark the end. It has come full circle; Florida 's nearby Eglin Field was where the Raiders trained in secrecy for the Tokyo mission. The town is planning to do all it can to honor the men: a six-day celebration of their valor, including luncheons, a dinner and a parade.

Do the men ever wonder if those of us for whom they helped save the country have tended to it in a way that is worthy of their sacrifice? They don't talk about that, at least not around other people. But if you find yourself near Fort Walton Beach this week, and if you should encounter any of the Raiders, you might want to offer them a word of thanks. I can tell you from firsthand observation that they appreciate hearing that they are remembered.

The men have decided that after this final public reunion they will wait until a later date -- some time this year -- to get together once more, informally and in absolute privacy. That is when they will open the bottle of brandy. The years are flowing by too swiftly now; they are not going to wait until there are only two of them.

They will fill the four remaining upturned goblets.
And raise them in a toast to those who are gone.

It's fun to just randomly Google something. Today, I chose random fact of the day, and thought I would share a taste.

Vocabulary:

The longest word in the English language has 189,819 letters. Methionylthreonylthreonylglutaminylarginyl…isoleucine is the chemical name of the largest known protein titin. Lexicographers have argued however that chemical compounds should not count. The largest non-technical word is antidisestablishmentarianism, with a mere 28 letters

Sports:

Have you ever heard of Manute Bol? He was one of the tallest NBA players to ever play professional basketball, at 7ft 7inches tall, though his arrival to the US from Sudan confused immigration control.

His passport listed him as 5ft 2inches tall – more than 2ft of difference between that and his actual height. Explaining the situation, Bol said: ‘They measured me while I was sitting down.’

Bol passed away on June 19, 2010.

Food:

49% of KFC’s total revenue comes from China.

and Last but NOT least....

SEX:
The word "gymnasium" comes from the Greek word gymnazein which means "to exercise naked." (NOW wait just a minute.. you mean that the olymics gymnastics are supposed to be naked? I'd watch that!)

Okay.. one more!

A milk protein is used in the manufacturing of latex, which means most condoms are unsuitable for use by vegans!

some condoms are made with milk proteins, making them unsuitable for vegans. Vegans, unlike vegetarians, abstain from consuming not only meat but all animal products, including milk.

Many condom companies manufacture their condoms using casein, a milk protein. They may also use milk powder. Thankfully for those vegans who don’t want to give up their birth control, there are vegan-approved condoms. Glyde Condoms, Sir Richard’s Condoms, RFSU Condoms, Condomi Condoms and a number of others have all been confirmed by the Vegan Society to contain no animal products/

Once you have read this, there's no turning back. Below are true descriptions of zodiac signs, with traits from a book written 35 years ago by an astrologist predictionist. Read your sign, then repost this in a new bulletin with your zodiac sign and label, or you'll get bad luck for the number of years stated in your sign description.

This is real shit, try ignoring it, and the first thing you'll notice is having a horrible day starting tomorrow morning - and it only gets worse from there.

I just read one of the most beautiful memorial post I have ever read and it made me want to share just a moment with you. Over the last eight years I have lost several of the most important people in my life beginning with my mother, followed a year later by my grandfather, two years later my mom's mother, and just last year my other grandmother.

I look back, and I can appreciate what each one of these people brought to my life. My mother gave to me the gift of caring, nurturing, and the ability to have true empathy without any judemental undertones what so ever. My grandfather gave me a strong work ethic, a high value for family, and a beginning into a belief in God. My mom's mother gave me the ability to appreciate the finer things in life, being that I was not brought up with loads of money, it wasn't until I moved to be closer to her that I even knew of the activities of upper middle/upper income people, and thanks to her found that though it's nice to be able to do it's also not necessary. (side note: The ONE thing that she left that I asked for was a shadow box made for her, her dream bed and breakfast) Finally, my grandmother, whom raised me for most my life. A woman stronger than steel and hard as nails. One who never minced words and commanded as much respect as she gave. She demanded that I learn music and make my grades, so thanks to her I have the love of my life that has never left... music. She gave me the ability to stand up to anyone, anytime, and with her gift mixed generously with those of the others, I find that I am what I consider well rounded, educated, and fair.

This is my tribute to those that have passed before me and helped make me who I am today.
