it was a rough one. many hours working with the remainder of the days going to sleep (not even 8 hours per day). seemed like i encountered problems everywhere i went at work this week. problems take more time. valuable time that gets eaten up so that you can not leave at a reasonable hour. after all, we don't leave until everything is finished. ouch. i'm hurting a little. not to mention in the midst of a sniffling sneezing cold.
but on to the down time i am. i took a few extra days off of work this week and i will be starting cookie fest '09 in about 10 hours. this year will be a good one. some old faves, some new things, and all in a red/white/brown color scheme (cuz i'm an experienced pastry nerd like that). i can't wait. only thing left to do is pick up 7/8 lbs of butter (makes it better)and we are a GO!

all this black friday and holiday shopping madness gets me thinking. yet another consumer event to participate in. as if people aren't already overspent and overbooked. i can not event imagine what this time of year would be like if i had . but i digress.. this year was the first i participated in wee-hours shopping (just shopping for myself). it was a first and a last. did i save so money off the 'normal' price, yes. but what exactly is your time worth?
i gathered the things i wished to purchase in 20 minutes at 3 a.m. preceeded to the line, which snaked all the way to the back of the store and around again. i waited for 40 minutes, thinking things were going to move at any moment. at that point, i did consider leaving but i'd already invested 40 MINUTES of my life. so i stayed. and waited, and waited, and waited... 2 hours later i depearted. in retrospect, the dollars i 'saved' were definately not worth the two and a half hours spent waiting (in the middle of the night, before going to work for a full 10 hours).
NEVER AGAIN. lesson learned.

i see a lot of womens' blogs complain of the lack authenticity in profiles. i hear ya sisters. i've been an intermittant user for more time than i'd like to admit, and in that time i've found a lot of duds.
i try to keep it low key/no pressure. i find it best to not get too into your sexual desires and boundaries when you first eschange communication; it just causes too much of an expectation for that very first time face to face. yes, i do like to chat a few times to get to know someone a little better and exchange pics. it does help weed out the riff raff.. to a certain extent. of course, there are always some that have that charm to make it through to the next elimination. twice, only twice, have i encountered men who are spot on for what i seek. i still communicate with them both. all in all, it's a lot of effort for a little return.

another beautiful fall day. autumn is my favorite smelling season. yes, at times its kinda funky, but it's a comforting aroma of earthy goodness.
still not too cold for an outdoor tryst.

another rainy day. not a complaint though - just reminds me how much i miss juneau.
hm.. sucks to be a non-paying member and not able to view things. however, when i did pay to see i wasn't more successful in my searches. alas, you know how it is.. you put certain guidelines, likes and dislikes.. and somehow no one reads them anyway.
