I recently had an email exchange with someone that left me shaking my head a little bit. There are soo many stereotypes about single men on HotMatch.com that permeate the consciousness of the average woman (or even the avarage couple) that it can become a bit depressing and disappointing. It's true, there are many guys who fall into the desperate, lonely, wierd, sex crazed and fiendish categories, but not all of us are that way.
Here's the situation:
I met a woman on chat and we seemed to hit it off. Conversation was easy, we seemed to be into the same things and decided to try to meet up in a few days on the weekend. I then got off chat and proceeded to get back to real world. Later that day, I got a message from her asking if I could meet that same night. I had made previous plans and could not, so I asked for a rain check and she said sure. I didn't hear from her on the weekend so I reached out and got no response. I reached out again a few days later to say good luck to her in her search because I realized that she was not interested, which was cool. Weeks go by, and I finally receive an email from her, actually two messages. Both of them seem to have gibberish messages, so I responded and asked what was up and if this was a sign that she was still interested etc. I received a terse and nasty reply which basically said " I don't know you, never spoke to you, would not be interested in you etc. " Its as if she thought I was a desperate dude clawing for her attention who needed to slapped away fiercely to get the message that she was not interested.
look, I get it... women are bombarded by hundreds of messages... but still, if you don't have anything nice to say, its better not to say anything at all.
So heres my observation: Due to the sheer number contacts that approach women ( or due to a of lack of social graces), if you are a single guy, be prepared for some nasty responses and grow a thick skin.
