Unfortunately it is by mosquitoes. I have a huge flock of them here at the house. Heading out camping for the holiday weekend. I don't know whether to bring bug spray or antiaircraft artillery.

I may be driving some folks crazy. I just started summer vacation (cue the 3rd grade reaction). I work a ton of hours throughout the school year, occasionally going weeks at a time without a day off. Therefore meeting up can be problematic. I look forward to the summer since my weekdays are mostly unencumbered and largely under my control. Now I'm free but others are having to work tons, doing family stuff, etc. I try not to be pushy but still want to remind folks, "hey, I'm here and available!"

That was my immediate thought for the sales clerk when I asked if the toilet repair parts I was holding would work on an older toilet. It was a pretty personal question on her part. Not where she should have started if she was hitting on me. If she is trying to pick me up she should begin with a more encouraging, less accusatory line.

The savory aroma fills the air and clouds the mind. I bring my fingertips close to my nostrils to let the scent envelop me. I close my eyes and think back to when my fingers caressed the petals drawing forth the flavor, saturating my digits with anticipation of tastes to come.

Summer vacation has finally begun after a particularly demanding semester. My days will now be filled with biking and projects and kayaking and projects and, hopefully, with occasional adult oriented fun.

Weekdays are pretty much my own to plan.

When I'm going to meet a partner or potential partner I do my best to spruce up. I can remember when that involved a hair brush. I remember when I carried a small plastic comb in my pocket, all the time. Alas, no more. Sprucing up now involves a razor, more than it used to.

Back when we were camping when the were little, we had a code. We used to camp with friends who also had little ones. When one of the couples said they were off to "grab a nap", it was understood that the other grownups would keep an eye on the extra offspring while that couple grabbed some afternoon delight.

I'll occasionally use the line, "is that code for something?" when chatting here or on Kik. It often leads to some fun discussions.

I got the bicycle down from the rafters of the garage yesterday. The tires were of course quite low on air. I pumped them up to the regular 80 psi I like. It makes for a harder ride at that pressure but the tires roll so easily that it is worth a bit of pounding. How hard do you like your ride?
