Ocean that is.
It's my home
Before living at the Jersey Shore. I spent 27 years living right off the DC Beltway (Rt. 495) in Northern VA.
All these beach photos were taken this morning between 7:30 and 8am.
The sun came up pretty quick.

What a perfect day...
To do absolutely nothing.
Life is good - When your backyard backs up to the Atlantic Ocean.
The Summer season is over and most beach goers went home.
Very quiet in my neighborhood...
doing my best to enjoy it and take it all in.

Baseball - The Game

I'm a fan of Baseball. Thinking it's my favorite sport.
I know for many - it's like watching paint dry.
In the World Series this year, I'd like to see the Nationals and Yankees.
Growing up in Central / Northern NJ and also living in Manhattan from '79 to '84 I was a Yankee Fan.
In '84 I moved to Northern VA just outside of Washington, DC. At the time In '84
DC didn't have a Baseball team. In 2005 the Nationals came to life.
Early on - DC did had another baseball team many years ago called the Senators from 1901 - 1960.
Since 2011 I've been living in Atlantic City. Which is considered South Jersey, The Philly area. Yes I'm also a Phillies fan.
Hope I'm not the only watching the Yankees / Astros this evening.

Living in Atlantic City I never got caught up in the whole gambling thing.
Heck I only moved here for the beach.
The past few Monday evenings I found myself going and staying at our first casino built. "Resorts Casino". Opened in 1978.
Now I find myself just playing and having fun on the slot machines.
So far the most I won is $5.
So looking forward to Monday evening.

This morning I passed an old closed down casino called the Atlantic Club. This place closed in 2014.
Noticed a film crew shooting away.
Zack Snyder (whoever he is) is looking to cast zombies in Atlantic City for his new Netflix movie, "Army of the Dead"
You now know what I know.

Did You Live in New York '79 to '84

I was 21... The year was 1979
I moved into NYC from growing up in Central NJ
Moved to a place called Bretton Hall
Located at 2350 Broadway between 85th and 86th Street
The area is known as the Upper West Side.
Right before moving there I landed my first Recording Studio gig on West 57th Street.
My rent was $580. per month. Now the rent for the same apartment is $4200 per month (WHAT!) There's no way I could afford that place anymore.
Back in those day I hit all the hot clubs (missing those days so very much).
My neighbor was a Rock Photographer. Every Sunday afternoon she would do a photo shoot at the old CBGBs.
Then we grow up...
Anyone live in the city those day?
Always love talking about the good 'ol days.

Today was the perfect beach day...
Blue Skies, temps and a mild breeze...
already noticing less traffic during the weekdays.
Many of my neighbors that have summer homes here are closing them up and heading back home.

College Dorm Rooms

Here in Atlantic City what's known as a casino resort town, we have Stockton University.
The dorms are right off the boardwalk and a few minute walk to the closest casino being Tropicana.
Thinking to myself... Would I send my or here?
Would be so hard to study ...don't ya think? Would you?
I could see it now - Mom / Dad: I need more money for books - but really lost it on playing
Slots / Poker etc...

So this morning I was watching this guy go back and forth moving beach sheds.
Happens every year at this time...
These sheds are for beach chairs and umbrella rentals.
Just one more sign the season is coming to an end.
