"Classy"

It's difficult to describe yourself in a profile in a way makes you seem interesting without being arrogant. One my instant "no" words people use is classy. "I'm classy." What's mean?? You're well-dressed, well-educated, use proper English when communicating? If so, say . If by "classy" you mean, "I like expensive things", then you're not classy, you're materialistic.

"Classy" is an umbrella-nondescript word for lazy people who don't want to consider other words to more closely describe themselves.

"Classy" doesn't always mean someone is materialistic. A hippie can be "Classy". ha... and that's not to say a hippie wouldn't be materialistic, especially after investing in Microsoft in the beginning days. Or investing in some the "Dot com" stock and getting out in time, or staying in if they invested in Amazon stock.

But is there something wrong with being "Materialistic"? No. Part of being "Materialistic" is to be money-oriented. Anyone, especially the teen with their first job, or the twenty something getting started ,should be materialistic because to live comfortably later in life, a person must be money-oriented, have a plan for how their money is going to work for them. IRA's? 401k's? Stock investments? Yes, yes and yes.

To be materialistic is smart, doesn't mean a person will be a snob, arrogant or unwelcoming.

It's difficult to describe yourself in a profile in a way makes you seem interesting without being arrogant. ... Don't worry about that, because those people who conclude you are arrogant from interpreting what you say as arrogant , may only have their own low self esteem problems [and other issues] , and so detest anyone who has done well for themselves , in life. You wouldn't want to associate with those people who think that way of you, anyway.
