Is it me or have we become social savages in the digital age? Common courtesy seems to have gone out the window. Here on HotMatch.com is no exception, and mostly when it comes to email. If someone sends you a message is it not fair to respond in kind? Even if to say not interested, isn’t that appropriate or am I missing something? What makes it even worse is when the person you sent a message to views your profile not long after the message sent, so it seems they have received it. Is the lack of response because they are overwhelmed with emails, or perhaps not want to seem snobbish for not wanting to meet, or perhaps they believe they will be harassed for turning someone down? I respond even if I am not interested so at least the person can continue their search and not keep waiting for a connection that may never occur. I don’t know, maybe I’m just funny that way…lol.

 no one has to answer every message they get, if you are a member who cant read profiles, it is understandable that you message them, but I found that most gold member put what they want and need in their blogs, I myself have done that also to stop unwanted messages, yet they don't read, or they do read and think they can change your mind, it isn't being rude or having no manners, some people can't take no without being an asshole

 Great points everyone, I really do understand no one has to respond at all if they don’t want to. I don’t just email every person that comes across my ‘new match list’, I carefully select who I send messages to, certainly if not compatible then why even try…lol. I totally agree with the traveling part, I’ll say where I’m headed on my profile and let them decide to contact. I’m not the intrusive type. Yes, send a note and move on, keep looking…lol.

I try to respond to any and all, sometimes it takes a day or three but I will acknowledge the person. Yes, I do not receive hundreds of contacts so I get it. I guess I needed to vent a little frustration and have you all help me get grounded again. I mean, the second word in HotMatch.com is Friend, right? So thanks friends....
