Lady Day

its now March ….the ascent of the sun is visible and the warmth of early spring is more evident with each passing day. The hours of daylight are now almost equal to the hours of night with the Light on the ascendant.

in ancients noticed the daylength changes and that there were two special times of the year when they were almost equal. The ancients created stories and even Deities to explain the apparent movement of the sun as the seasons progressed. Usually the deities created were Female to represent the Earth and Male to represent the Sun examples include Isis and Osiris (Egypt) Gaia and Oranos (later changed to Uranus) (Greece) … the Maiden and Lugh or Llew (Ireland Wales and parts of the UK proper) … Ceres Persephone and Hades (Greece). The stories were about the romance of the Sun and the Earth with the first fruits of spring being the result of their love. The stories included murder too...where the young Sun god slew his father and mated with his former wife (an example of this being the Young Maiden who was once Blodwedd the wife of Goronwy lord of Night) the Young Sun God's mating with the Young Maiden got her pregnant with what would become his reincarnation at the next Yule (which by the way is the best way to have a Christmas baby---do the nasty as close to the MARCH 21st equinox as possible as 9 months later is literally Christmas)

under construction.....to be continued...
