FUCK YOU DIsney

Fuck you Disney and all of your Princess movies. I hate how we set up our young women for a life of disappointment.

At their most impressionable age, girls are fed this bullshit about what life will be like when they are older. Prince charming will come and love, protect and cherish them forever. And when they learn that real life just isn't quite like that, they are hurt and some never get over it. Some carry this ideal of love and relationships till the day they die. Being disappointed and sad. over and over.

There are a LOT of good, decent, men and boys. But I have yet to meet "Prince Charming".

May you burn in hell you assholes who get rich brain washing .

Grrr......

I'm not sure we could put this all on Disney. Parents can choose not to feed them that shit. That would be like blaming McDonald's or 7-Eleven for childhood obesity.

The real teachable moment occurs when parents say "no" to these things. Stories are escape and intended to spirit us away from everyday life. It's entertainment and not meant to be a substitute for responsible parenting.

As for women who never outgrow these fantasies. I'd say that might be indicative of other issues. Food for thought.

Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.

NorthShore,

You are right. It really does come down to good parenting. But getting rich selling people stuff that's bad for them like excess sugar is in my mind immoral.

Thanks a lot for your comment. Take care.

You're welcome.

While I definitely agree that making products which are bad for people is ethically questionable, the free market and personal responsibility will most likely determine their continued existence.

Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.
