Dust

I remember the taste of his lips on mine and the crushing scent of him calling to me in the empty halls of the past.The way he would smile when we were high on fresh love.Falling faster and way too deep in such a short time.He was my best friend and the one who first captured what is now just a cold void.When I was just learning I could fly.Together we were as one.Perfect pieces.Big brown eyes held such power and patience with my restless soul.But nothing lasts forever and as our summer romance met it's end I can still recall the way the chips would fall.With one bitter goodbye I watched him walk away praying it would never hurt the same nor as bad when the first and unforgotten time my heart shattered inside.Never would I feel the same for any man because your first love is always the hardest to let go.The one that will dance in your head eternally.
