A Dilemma

A Dilemma

I have a dilemma. There is a woman that has visited my blog on a regular basis for the past several months. I learned that she and my current amor used to be FWBs but it ended well over a year ago when she moved away to accept a new job. Although she has never commented on any of my posts, she is what some might call a "passive stalker."

Last week, he called her out on it and unfriended her. As a precautionary measure, I decided to block her from accessing my blog and other info. I don't usually block people unless they are verbally harassing or just plain mean but something just didn't feel right. I expected that would be the last of it.

I was WRONG.

She showed up on my viewer's list again. I checked to verify she was blocked and she WASN'T. I re-blocked her.

I am flummoxed. Her weird fascination with viewing my blog is concerning. Her profile has not changed. I am not sure why she keeps showing up on my viewer list. My question- if you've blocked someone from viewing your blog, will they continue to show up on your list even if you have blocked them?

There are conflicting opinions on what blocking someone really does (and good luck getting a straight answer out of A*F*F Customer Service on ANYTHING). Some say it blocks reading, other that it only blocks commenting.

I fall in the later group, having only needed to block on person ever. Assuming the block is for commenting, then YES they could still appear as a recent visitor, but quite frankly I don't recall any more.

You didn't ask, but my opinion - the less said about this whole situation the better. A dear friend, and mental health professional like yourself, advised me to IGNORE, IGNORE, IGNORE my stalker and she was correct, it FINALLY worked.

I have ignored for many months with no success. Guess that theory doesn't work in every scenario.

It depends on how you're blocking her.

It should work if you go to your account/blocked member list/then copy and paste or type her name into the member box/check "view my profile" and this will block her across the board. Or just check the "view my blog" box if it's only your blog you want her not to see.

She will still be able to see your status updates and view your public photographs due to an A F F loophole. More about this on my blog if you're interested Ladies, and gents did you know They say they're working on fixing this loophole, but time will tell. But it does allow stalkers access to our profiles in the meantime, but not your blog.

Hope this helps

Well, I agree with steven-strait. How can you say she is stalking you just by reading your blog/profile? To me, that doesnt make much sense. I view many blogs and profiles here....well.......because I can and thats why I pay to be here. Am I stalking people? I don't think so and that certainly is not my intention.

Also, if you post a blog you are pretty much asking for opinions/comments so that is not considered "unsolicited". I mean no harm here but unless she does something more substantial, I would just ignore her.

This isn't about a person that is simply viewing a "random" blog. She knows we are seeing each other. She's made some petty remarks to him about something I stated in my blog post. It is about a woman that can't let things go.

I don't think it matters how anyone else feels other than the owner of the blog with regards to the person viewing her. If she feels she's being stalked that's how she feels. If she feels remotely uncomfortable about this person viewing her blog she's entitled to feel that way. And in turn, entitled to block her. I'm not sure why or where the accusations of paranoia etc come into play as it's not you in her situation.

Thank you. I don't understand why some readers feel a need to pass judgment. I was simply stating my opinion on my blog.

I have blocked numerous but if any of your pictures show up on the home page or the who is hot list...they can view.

I have on guy who keeps coming up with new profiles and every time he does he just ends up on the blocked list again
