My girl

I took my girl Emma in to work today on my day off. I did a dental on her. Doctor was walking by, took a listen to her and found a mitral heart murmur. Not much we can do. It will only get worse. She is also showing signs like she did when she needed her cystotomy two months ago. WE did radiographs and an ultrasound and found no stones. Did find her bladder wall was very thickened. I put her on antibiotics proactively. On top of all that, her left patella is horribly luxating. Some dogs can live with that with no problems. She had problems this morning with it. So now the question for me is: Do I do surgery--which is MAJOR orthopedic surgery--or do I wait until it becomes a major problem for her? It may never become a problem. I'm really worried about her. She still isn't eating tonight. Still gagging after having the endotracheal tube in. Not going to get much sleep tonight.

My idea of "help from above" is a sniper on the roof!!!

I feel for you. I love pets. I say wait to see if it becomes a problem.

Good luck with your pet. Dog's are like humans--and then some. They have emotions like love, hate, jealousy, loneliness, anxiety, and so on. And their medical attention is a requirement. How old is your pet? Again good luck...
