R.I.P.

Jack Kevorkian died today. May he rest in peace. He was someone I admired for his balls to do what was right. We euthanize animals every day--and for many NOT to end their suffering, but because of divorce, and for the stupidity and irresponsibility of people. Why not euthanize people???? I wholeheartedly believer in what he did. I watched my stepfather suffer with cancer for 13 years. No way in hell will I do that. I will suck a bullet before going through what he did. We euthanize animals for the simple reason of population control. Why not people???? The word "euthanize" means "good death". Sometimes it's better than the life we are living.

My idea of "help from above" is a sniper on the roof!!!

I had this same chat with a freind a few days back on or aout the same day you posted this. Just goes to show I am in dire need of funds to pay attention
On the serious note though, yes, it should be something allowed for those who are terminal to decide. if they are not able, they should have a Living will, or a power of attorney for thier family to follow thier wishes.
I dare hope if I were in that place I would have the courage not to let my freinds watch me die slowly, but we never know such things until we face them. it is the bane and reality of our existance, the not knowing.
On the other hand, I cannot see telling somebody they must die if they wish to hold out for the hope they can, or will be cured. Such is the freedom of choice as I see it, and I believe in that almost as strongly as I do most other things I am willing to speak out on.
Thanks for asking this one. I will look forward to reading more from you as you feel inclined to post them.
