it's what people use to knock someone out and abduct them... in the shows its the stuff on the cloth they put over the nose and mouth of the victim.. I'm sure it probably has legitimate uses as well but I am not sure what those are. The reason she can't remember what it smells like is because when she smells it she passes out at least that is my take.
