Coffee : The Movie (sponsored by Caribou)

I was complaining at work about how the café has been out of Coke Zero since last Thursday and some lady had the audacity to say "Why don't you drink coffee or tea instead ?" and as I was raining blows down on her I came up with a great idea for a movie trilogy .

Movie #1 - All the coffee and tea drinkers are rounded up and put into prison , and there's so many of them that everyone else has to become a prison guard - BAM instant dystopian police state , people like that .

But one gender neutral person dares to defy authority !

The opening scene will be a bunch of bigwigs around a conference table and one guy (played by Sam Rockwell) will ask “Why don’t we just stop making coffee” and the main guy (played by Thomas Middleditch) will berate him because you have to make the coffee to find out who the coffee people are so they can be locked away/magnetized (the prisons will hold people still with giant magnets you see) .

The second part of the trilogy will be called Tea and Eh about the tea-prisons in Canada where one gender fluid Native person dares to defy authority . The tag will be Thomas Hayden Church (the Tea-Czar of Canada) shouting “There’s no tea in Canada friend !”

Uh-oh , I just realized that all the authority figures in this trilogy are men . I better make up for that in the last movie but shoehorning in a bunch of female characters that don’t really move the plot along .

I am going to be SO rich .

Just recently here in the great state of Iowa a dude killed his family and them himself - this is a thing that happens from time to time . A dude loses his job and in our society if you can't provide for your family you're not a man so he decides to off himself - but he takes his family out too because clearly they can't exist without him .

What I don't understand is if the issue is that he can't get money for his family and he has a gun and he's willing to both kill and die - why doesn't he go down the corner of MLK and Army Post road and try to rip off the dudes there dealing smack ? It can't be cause it's too dangerous because he's willing to take himself out . And it can't be because he doesn't want to break the law because he's willing to murder .

So what is it ?

Problem - Need money

Assets - Gun , willing to lose everything

What is it in these guys minds that makes them not turn to crime ?

Like these guys that do these things , would they be "okay" as long as they always had a job or are they a ticking timebomb that's going to go off one day regardless ?

I suppose there's really no answers .

I guess what I revealed about myself there is that I'm kind of okay with drug dealers getting shot , which isn't okay

Your question about WHY he chose murder/suicide vs robbery is interesting.
Reminds me of another question that makes no sense - Why don't the homeless people in northern states walk south before winter comes?

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

Probably because the cities are were you can find food and shelter . I mean when I become homeless I'll probably be trapped here - I can't get anywhere quickly enough to make it effective on foot

Interesting turn of topic. For some it might not even enter their mental state to go and steal something or to find a different way of solving th3 problem. This solution enters their head and it becomes a fixation and their rationale is taken over by it.

By the way the movie plot was definitely sounding good - you may want to add the UK into the mix too lol

The US , Canada and the UK ? It's the honky trifecta

I only drink decaf so can I be a producer?

You cannot conceive the many without the one.
