They can't all be winners I keep meaning to do a post where I look up the profiles of all the people that watch this blog and give my thoughts - there's so many I know nothing about . But that seems like a lot of work just to alienate people . One of the many things that annoys me is when people use expressions incorrectly . Currently the one that is bothering me is "divide and conquer" which is supposed to be when you divide your enemy's forces you can focus all your might against just part of theirs - but I would say 100% of the time it's used to mean they speaker is dividing their "forces" to provide more coverage . Also we're in an office building , we ain't conquering shit . There were some protestors at my building again and I didn't engage with them this time , but it did remind me of the times I have and how they seemed to have no agenda . They were just protesting for the sake of protesting . Speaking of doing things just because I thought the ice bucket challenge was over - it seems to be making a comeback . I was talking the other day about HotMatch.com and "normal" website meet-ups and it reminded me of a conversation I had long ago about meeting at someone's house . Most people seem to think it's more dangerous to invite someone to your house than to go to theirs but I think that's backwards . If you're a murderer you're going to have all your murder tools ready if someone is coming to your house - you can murder them and dispose of the body and no one will ever know . But if you're going on the road it becomes a lot harder . Neither is a good idea obviously but hey , life is a crapshoot right ? In my office there's conference rooms , and then there's fancy conference rooms which I rarely get to go to , and then there's super fancy conference rooms I never get to go to , and then there's super de duper fancy conference rooms I'm pretty sure I'm not even suppose to look at . Sometimes when I walk past the SDDF conference rooms they have a sign on a little pedestal that says "Quite please , innovation is progress" . And I always have the urge to steal it and set it up outside my cube because how fucking pretentious is that ? You ain't innovating shit . I would like to eavesdrop one of those meetings though - when it's all bullshit artists in the room do they constantly just speak over one another or is it like sharks feeding on a whale carcass and there's an pecking order ? Why do Twinkies come in a clear package but Ho-Hos come in an opaque one ? My boss volunteered me to work with this lady on a project about recognition because he knows I hate that stuff and that's the kind of relationship we have . Which is fine , I know the score , but I feel sorry for this lady because she's a nice enough person and she's really earnest and wants to do a good job but I do not care about recognition at all and I can't even summon up the energy to pretend . Validation is for stupid babies . That being said if you don't read my blog I'm going to cut myself . Putting first by putting employees first, immediately after prioritizing fiscal responsibilities and leveraging profitability towards exceeding by empowering our employees to put (and themselves) first, in a diverse and respectful environment of only those that come first, first. |

Twinkies are male and Ho-Hos are female and everyone knows guys love to flash their junk. Emotional blackmail? Tsk. Tsk.  Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

Just walk in with a box of donuts and ask "Did someone here order donuts?"  I think there should be a variation on the ice bucket challenge. One where people dump buckets of ice water on unsuspecting people who start and encourage these challenges. Catch them by surprise if you know what I mean and see what their reaction is. Vive La Difference
