Alive and well with all the water
Alive and well with all the water AS some of you know we do live in kansas with all the flooding, however, we are safe. the water is not close enough to us to do any damage, however, in my hometown of chanute it has flooded, but no family has to move. my sisters mominlaw had to be moved for alittle bit but the water never got close enough to her so she went back in. My dad said this flood is almost as bad as it was in '51. I can see what he is saying because in '86 the water was bad but not near as bad as it is now. The water has finally crested in all areas I believe, but now the long hard effort of cleaning up after the damage. 50 miles away is the area where the oil barrels escaped crude oil in the town. that really did alot of damage. In another town about the same distance I saw the pictures and its bad there too. Several towns have been hit bad. i know in chanute the water gopt further up then before and is still in the streets. I am hoping to go see the damage today and remember when it flooded me out in '86. We are doing great, just been wet from all the rain. hopefully we will be past the rain for awhile and start drying out. The big task today is going home and trying to get more things picked up and moved here to the house and storage. Not a task I am looking forward to as mom has not been doing anything at home to get moved and not been paying the bills. So I get to be the bad ass again and find out what is going on. I guess ojne of the always gets the fate of having to play parent to the parent. Always value what you have with your folks, because once they start going downhill you want to give up, but remebering what they did for you helps you get through it all. Have a happy and safe fourth and I will catch ya'll up later on the new truck we have purchased. Kisses yo ya'll and miss you. knd and cracker Life is what you make it. Find your dreams |
