The thing to remember about Fathers is that they are men.
A Girl has to keep this in mind.
They are the Dragon seekers, bent upon improbable causes.
Scratch any father and you will find someone chock full of Qualms and romantic terrors, believing that change is a threat.
Like your first pair of shoes with heels on, or like your first bicycle that it took so many long months to get.
Walk through strange woods and he will warn you of snakes there.
Climb and he fears that you will fall.
Books, angular boys, or swimming in deep water Fathers distrust them all.
You see men are the worriers, it is difficult for them to learn that which they must learn.
For that as a young woman now you have a journey to take and for awhile at least you may not return.

Well if there isn't there should be one.
last night to my surprise Skye's presented me with a gift, a very special gift I might add.
She had made it herself and hidden it in her room till last night.
First there was a large handmade card that read To My Step-dad Swallow my Super Hero! On the inside there was written. My Step-dad is a superhero because he makes me Laugh,he loves me no matter what and he is someone I can talk to about my problems!!
Second I was presented with a Step Fathers Survival Kit, it contained the following.
A Tootsie Roll to remind me to roll with the punches.
Skittles to remind me that there's a Rainbow behind those angry clouds.
Starburst For a burst of energy on those lazy days.
Hugs to remind you of how very special you are to me.
Jelly beans for happy beams.
A Balloon to remind you to teach the to reach for the Sky.
A Happy Face to keep on Smiling.
Live Savers because You are a life Saver.
Peppermint Because your job as a parent is worth a Mint.
And a Paper Clip to hold it all together.

Stanley Ann Dunham Obana Soetoro (November 29, 1942 - November 7, 1995), known as Ann Dunham and/or Stanley Ann Dunham, was an American anthropologist, left-wing social activist, and the mother of Senator Barack Obama. She was born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to Stanley and Madelyn Dunham. Her father was a furniture salesman in downtown Seattle, Washington, and her mother worked for a bank. After a year living in Seattle, her family moved to Mercer Island, Washington, in 1956 so that 13-year old Ann could attend the Mercer Island High School that had just opened. At the school she was on the debate team and graduated in 1960.
Her family moved to Hawaii and Ann attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she studied anthropology. When Ann Dunham arrived in Hawaii, she was a full-fledged radical leftist and practitioner of critical theory. She also began to engage in miscegenation (inter-racial relationships) as part of her attack on society. Susan Blake, one of her friends, has stated she never dated 'the crew-cut white boys'. She had a world view, even as a young girl. It was embracing the different, rather than that ethnocentric thing of shunning the different. That was where her mind took her. In Hawaii she met Barack Obama, Sr. from Kenya in her Russian language class. Barack Obama, Jr. was born August 4, 1961, but was called 'Barry.'
Barack Obama, Sr. left Ann and their in 1963 to attend Harvard in Boston. Press reports claim Ann Dunham and Barack Obama Sr. were divorced around this time; however, no evidence has yet been discovered to show they were ever married. The senior Obama obtained a masters degree in economics at Harvard and returned to Kenya in 1965 where he obtained a position in the Kenyan government. He was killed in an automobile accident in 1982.
Two years later, when her was five, Dunham married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian oil manager and practicing Muslim whom she met at the university. In 1967 they moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. While in Indonesia Ann got a job at the American embassy teaching English.
Barack's half-sister, Maya Soetoro was born in Indonesia. Ann, Barry, and his sister Maya moved back to Hawaii. Ann Dunham soon returned to Indonesia with Maya but divorced Soetoro in the late 1970s.
Dunham traveled around the world, pursuing a career in rural development that took her to Ghana, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal and Bangladesh. In 1986 Ann Dunham worked on a developmental project in Pakistan. Later that year Ann and her traveled the Silk Road in China. In 1992 she earned a Ph.D in anthropology from the University of Hawaii. Her dissertation, 'Peasant Blacksmithing in Indonesia: Surviving and Thriving Against All Odds,' was 1067 pages long. She worked for the Ford Foundation and promoted Microlending. During this time, while his mother was roaming around the world, Barack Hussein Obama Jr 'Barry' was being raised by his grandmother....the same woman he would later describe as a 'typical white person'. His affectionate nickname, used by grandparents, was 'Bar.'
In 1980, Barry announced to everyone that he would no longer be called Barry, but would only answer to his formal name, also the name of his father, as Barack. He explained that he wanted his identity to mirror that of his paternal lineage.
During Obama's campaign for the 2008 presidential election he has portrayed his mother as just an ordinary conservative girl from Kansas; however in reality she was a radical leftist and cultural Marxist. She lived in the Seattle area, spending her teenage years in Seattle coffee shops with other young radical leftists. Obama claims his mother's family were conservative Methodists or Baptists from Kansas. Not true in any way. His mother's parents were members of a left-wing Unitarian church near Seattle. The church located in Bellevue, Washington was knicknamed 'the little red church,' because of its leftist leanings.
The school Ann attended, Mercer Island High School, was a hotbed of pro-Marxist radical teachers. John Stenhouse, board member, told the House Un-American Activities Subcommittee that he had been a member of staff. Two teachers at this school, Val Foubert and Jim Wichterman, both Frankfurt School style Marxists, taught a critical theory curriculum to students which included; rejection of societal norms, attacks on Christianity, the traditional family, and assigned readings by Karl Marx. The hallway between Foubert's and Wichterman classrooms was sometimes called 'anarchy ally.'
Dunham has been described by her friends as 'a fellow traveler... meaning a communist/socialist sympathizer.
In an interview, Barack Obama referred to his mother as 'the dominant figure in my formative years... The values she taught me continue to be my touchstone when it comes to how I go about the world of politics.'
Before she died Ann Dunham wanted to adopt a mixed-race Korean baby fathered by a Black American stationed in South Korea. Ann Dunham died in Hawaii in 1995 of ovarian cancer and uterine cancer.
On his campaign trail, practically none of Obama's descriptions of his family history, environment, his developmental years, schooling and/or his parents are anywhere near truth or historical, verifiable fact.

The nation is at a dangerous crossroad. Either Congress reasserts its authority now by impeachment or it forever surrenders that role, leaving us with what can only be called a dictatorship.
The last couple of weeks have brought confirmation-as if it were needed-even in the corporate media, that President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and the gang of thugs and sycophants around them in the White House, engaged in a massive conspiracy to lie the country into a war in Iraq.
The release of a confessional book by former White House press spokesman Scott McClellan and the subsequent release of a long blocked report by the Senate Intelligence Committee make it clear that Bush, Cheney & Company deliberately lied to Congress and the American public back in 2002 and early 2003 about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein (there was none). McClellan also states that Bush and Cheney conspired to "out" CIA undercover operative Valerie Plame Wilson, as part of a compaign to prevent her husband from exposing a major part of that campaign of lies: the claim that Saddam Hussein was seeking to build nuclear weapons.
It would be hard to overstate the extent of or the damage caused by these crimes that are now exposed to the light of day.
Beginning in 2001, making the most cynical use of the tragic killing of nearly 3000 Americans in the 9-11 attacks, Bush and Cheney moved to aggrandize as much power as possible in the executive, and then, to consolidate that power grab, engineered a full-scale war against Iraq, enabling them to claim that any opponent of their dictatorial usurpation of power was a traitor to the nation.
It was all a lie.
Saddam Hussein had no links to Al Qaeda, and he had no nuclear program. He had no weapons of mass destruction. His country was broken, thanks to years of international sanctions and war.
As a result of these lies, we have a country that no longer even remotely resembles what the Founders had intended. The Congress has been shorn of its once exclusive authority to legislate, and even its Constitutional power to investigate the executive branch has been successfully defied. It is now an atrophied relic. The federal judiciary, right up to the Supreme Court, has been packed with administration sycophants and Federalist Society advocates of unfettered executive power.
We also have been saddled with an unwinnable war in the Middle East that has claimed the lives of 4500 Americans, destroyed the lives of another 30,000-or perhaps several hundred thousand, if we add in all those suffering psychological damage, or genetic damage from exposure to depleted uranium weapons. That war has also killed over 1 million innocent Iraqis, including countless chiildren, destroyed their country, bankrupted this nation, and made the US a pariah and a rogue state in the eyes of the rest of the world.
Most Americans long since came to the conclusion that the Bush administration was a gang of idiots. Just watching their handling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster unfold was enough to make that clear. But the new reports from McClellan and from the Senate Intelligence Committee should make it clear that this was not just stupidity. The disasters that have befallen this nation, or that it has brought on the rest of the world, over the past eight years have been the result of deliberate lying and deceit and of the conspiratorial policies of a cabal of leaders whose goal from day one was undoing the Constitution and establishing the presidency as a kind of dictatorship.
Most of the corporate media have been unable to bring themselves to state this clearly. They edge around the issue by talking about the White House having been "misleading" or "untruthful." And little is said about the lasting damage that has been done to the Republic and the Constitution, or about what is to be done about a still bloody war that never should have been fought in the first place.
The answer is clear. Impeachment proceedings should be initiated against both Bush and Cheney. These two arch criminals must not be permitted to leave office with their titles intact. They need to be tossed out in disgrace, and then indicted for war crimes and for crimes like perjury, conspiracy and perhaps treason.
We are already seeing the long-term damage that has been wrought. John McCain, the presumed Republican nominee for president, is saying that the president's use of the National Security Agency to spy, without any court order, on tens or hundreds of thousants, or perhaps millions of Americans, is legal, and would continue under a McCain administration. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, has said that he would continue Bush's use of "signing statements" to ignore Congressional legislation that he felt impaired his Constitutional powers as president.
The nation is at a dangerous crossroad. Either Congress reasserts its authority now, via impeachment, drawing a Constitutional line in the stand in defense of Article I of the Constitution-the article that defines the power of Congress as absolute in terms of passing legisation-or it forever surrenders that role, leaving us with what can only be called a dictatorship.
We clearly cannot count on the next president, whoever that may be, to surrender powers usurped by the current one. What leader in history has willingly and voluntarily surrendered authority, after all?
Such power must be wrested back by Congress, and the only way for that to happen is impeachment-a course laid out clearly by the authors of the Constitution for just such a crisis.

Although coming on like a freight train as the Messiah For Change, Barack Obama's just another poodle of the powerbrokers when it comes to who will be his Veep.

Bilderbergers pull the puppet strings of contemporary politicians. While the media tends to present Bilderberger luminaries as bigwigs in pinstripe suits attending endless secret meetings, they're the global elitists pushing the envelope on one-world government.

In the opinion of This writer, "It also ridicules once again any notion that an Obama presidency would bring "change" to the status quo of America being ruled by an unelected corporate and military-industrial complex elite."
"Former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson has been asked by Senator Barack Obama on Thursday to start the search for a viable Vice Presidential candidate," reports Trans World News.
"Johnson and Obama are starting the top-secret search as Obama edges closer to the Democratic nomination. Johnson did the same job for Democratic nominees John Kerry in 2004 and Walter Mondale in 1984."
The report lists Johnson as a member of "American Friends of Bilderberg," which is an offshoot Bilderberg front group that has accepted donations from the Ford Foundation to fund Bilderberg meetings where lavish hotels are entirely booked up for three days, by no means an inexpensive feat. The organization is basically a steering committee for the Bilderberg Group-a secretarial outpost through which Bilderberg conferences are organized.
Johnson has also directly attended Bilderberg meetings, therefore he can be classed as a Bilderberg luminary. He attended last years's meeting in Istanbul, Turkey.
"Johnson is also "A vice chairman of the private banking firm Perseus LLC, a position he has held since 2001. He is also a board member at Goldman Sachs, Gannett Company Inc., a media holding group, KB Home, a home construction firm, Target Corporation, Temple-Inland and United Health Group.
Predictably, he is also a member of the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations.
In 2004 it was reported that John Edwards' Goody Two Shoes performance in front of the Bilderberg big boys in Italy was a factor in his selection as John Kerry's Number Two. Edwards was so in sync with the brass that attendees even dispensed with house rules to applaud him at the end of the speech he gave about American politics.
That time, Johnson himself selected Edwards in a last-minute change decision after it appeared as though Dick Gephardt was going to secure the position. The New York Post even reported that Gephardt had been chosen and "Kerry-Gephardt" stickers were being placed on campaign vehicles before being removed when Edwards was announced as Kerry's handmaiden.
Kerry, of course went on to lose to what we like to call "his fellow Skull and Bones member" George W. Bush.
But with Obama enjoying an 8-point lead over Republican candidate John McCain, this year's running mate decision is all the more important, with the individual selected likely to have a shot at becoming President in 2012.

History may record the Democrats bringing both the first not so black and first female president and vice president to the White House.

An elderly man in Kamloops, B.C., was zapped three times on the torso by a police stun gun while lying on his hospital bed, CBC News has learned.
Frank Lasser, 82, appeared fragile Thursday when he showed the Taser marks on his body and talked about the ordeal he went through Saturday.
"They [police] should have known I had bypass surgery," Lasser told CBC News.
Lasser has had heart surgery and needs to carry an apparatus to supply oxygen at all times. He was in the Royal Inland Hospital Saturday due to pneumonia but has since been released.

RCMP said nurses called police after Lasser became delirious and pulled a knife out of his pocket.
Lasser told CBC News that he sometimes becomes delusional when he can't breathe properly. He said he couldn't explain why he refused to let go of the knife even after the Mounties arrived.
"I was laying on the bed by then and the corporal came in, or the sergeant, I forget which it was, and said to the guys, 'OK, get him because we got more important work to do on the street tonight,'" Lasser said.
"And then, bang, bang, bang, three times with the laser, and I tell you, I never want that again."

Kamloops RCMP said Thursday that officers had no other option but to deploy the conducted energy weapon when Lasser refused to drop his knife.
"Whether the person is 80 or 20, we are dealing with a person who had a deadly weapon in their hand," Cpl. Scott Wilson told CBC News.
"We could not deploy our … pepper spray, because we could potentially contaminate the entire hospital."
Lasser said there were three RCMP officers in his hospital room and believes they could have easily handled him without the use of a Taser.
"They could have gone in there and taken an old man without any trouble at all," said Lasser, who is an ex-prison guard.

As I sit here behind this laptop, I now realize that this definitely wasn't the brightest idea I have ever had. I was going to rope a neighbors deer, put it in a stall, feed it up on corn for a couple of weeks, then kill it and eat it.It wasn't like he didn't shoot and kill them himself.
Now you have to understand this was shortly after I had moved to the bush so cut me a little slack here and there. OK
The first step in this adventure was getting a deer. I figured that, since they congregate at my feeder and do not seem to have much fear of me when we are there (a bold one will sometimes come right up and sniff at the bags of feed while I am in the back of the truck not 4 feet away), it should not be difficult to rope one, get up to it and toss a bag over its head (to calm it down) then hog tie it and transport it home.
I filled the feeder then hid down at the end with my rope.
The horses, having seen the roping thing before, stayed well back. They were not having any of it.
After about 20 minutes, my deer showed up - 3 of them. I picked out.. ..a likely looking one, stepped out from the end of the feeder, and threw.. ..my rope. The deer just stood there and stared at me.
I wrapped the rope around my waist and twisted the end so I would have a good hold. The deer still just stood and stared at me, but you could tell it was mildly concerned about the whole rope situation.
I took a step towards it…took a step away. I put a little tension on the rope and then received an education.
The first thing that I learned is that, while a deer may just stand there looking at you funny while you rope it, they are spurred to action when you start pulling on that rope.
That deer EXPLODED.
The second thing I learned is that pound for pound, a deer is a LOT stronger than a cow or a colt. A cow or a colt in that weight range I could fight down with a rope and with some dignity.
A deer-no chance.
That thing ran and bucked and twisted and pulled. There was no controlling it and certainly no getting close to it. As it jerked me off my feet and started dragging me across the ground, it occurred to me that having a deer on a rope was not nearly as good an idea as I had originally imagined.
The only upside is that they do not have as much stamina as many other animals.
A brief 10 minutes later, it was tired and not nearly as quick to jerk me off my feet and drag me when I managed to get up. It took me a few minutes to realize this, since I was mostly blinded by the blood flowing out of the big gash in my head. At that point, I had lost my taste for corn-fed venison. I just wanted to get that devil creature
off the end of that rope.
I figured if I just let it go with the rope hanging around its neck, it would likely die slow and painfully somewhere.
At the time, there was no love at all between me and that deer. At that moment, I hated the thing, and I would venture a guess that the feeling was mutual.
Despite the gash in my head and the several large knots where I had cleverly arrested the deer's momentum by bracing my head against various large rocks as it dragged me across the ground, I could still think clearly enough to recognize that there was a small chance that I shared some tiny amount of responsibility for the situation we were in, so I didn't want the deer to have it suffer a slow death, so I managed to get it lined back up in between my truck and the feeder - a little trap I had set before hand,kind of like a squeeze chute.
I got it to back in there and I started moving up so I could get my rope back.
Did you know that deer bite?
Well They do! I never in a million years would have thought that a deer would bite somebody, so I was very surprised when I reached up there to grab that rope and the deer grabbed hold of my wrist.
Now, when a deer bites you, it is not like being bit by a where they just bite you and then let go. A deer bites you and shakes its head -almost like a pit bull. They bite HARD and it hurts.
The proper thing to do when a deer bites you is probably to freeze and draw back slowly. I tried screaming and shaking instead. My method was ineffective.
It seems like the deer was biting and shaking for several minutes, but it was likely only several seconds.
I, being smarter than a deer (though you may be questioning that claim by now) tricked it.
While I kept it busy tearing the bejesus out of my right arm, I reached up with my left hand and pulled that rope loose. That was when I got my final lesson in deer behavior for the day.
Deer will strike at you with their front feet. They rear right up on their back feet and strike right about head and shoulder level, and their hooves are surprisingly sharp.
I learned a long time ago that, when an animal- like a - strikes at you with their hooves and you can't get away easily, the best thing to do is try to make a loud noise and make an aggressive move towards the animal. This will usually cause them to back down a bit so you can escape.
This was not a . This was a deer, so obviously, such trickery would not work. In the course of a millisecond, I devised a different strategy.
I screamed like a woman and tried to turn and run.
The reason I had always been told NOT to try to turn and run from a that paws at you is that there is a good chance that it will hit you in the back of the head.
Deer may not be so different from horses after all, besides being twice as strong and 3 times as evil, because the second I turned to run, it hit me right in the back of the head and knocked me down.
Now, when a deer paws at you and knocks you down, it does not immediately leave. I suspect it does not recognize that the danger has passed. What they do instead is paw your back and jump up and down on you while you are laying there crying like a little girl and covering your head.
I finally managed to crawl under the truck and the deer went away.
So now I know why when people go deer hunting they bring a rifle with a scope so that they can be somewhat equal to the prey.

An American President Steps Over the Line (Again)

Some Call It Faith
How do you live with yourself if you're responsible for the deaths of 4,000 American soldiers and uncounted hundreds of thousands of Iraqis?
Is it enough to believe your own public political platitudes about making the Middle East safe for democracy? Is the unstated rich peoples' platitude about making the same region safe for Halliburton et al. enough to calm your troubled presidential mind?
Over the years of this national (international) tragedy we've heard - and picked apart - enough of Bush's speeches to conclude that both those rationales are at work.
His 2008 Memorial Day radio address gave away the game in one sentence that, strangely, no one seems to have noticed. Partly, I suppose, because we are by now so inured to his inanities that nobody except talking heads and columnists hard up for analytical fodder is paying much attention to what he says.
I couldn't get this one sentence out of my mind after it flashed through whatever media I was tuned in to.
Right at the end of a few minutes of the usual patriotic vacuities, he asks all Americans to remember the soldiers who paid the ultimate price, who were "delivered out of the agony of war to meet their Creator."
My first reaction of jaw-dropping surprise was followed, the more I thought about it, by incredulity and then embarrassment, which finally morphed into a kind of nightmarish despair, the kind you feel when Slim Pickens at the end of Dr. Strangelove reveals his true cowboy colors and happily rides one of the bombs to earth shouting "Hee-haw" with a big grin on his face.
I was stunned that a president could and would say such a thing in public on the radio 1) without shame and 2) apparently without awareness that there might be any cause at all for shame in making such a statement.
A statement which basically says, "4,000 soldiers have died, but that's OK because however awful their deaths were, they're now a lot better off than they were before (and than we are who are still struggling along on Earth) because, well, they're face-to-face with the Big Guy Himself. So, not to worry."
We've known that Bush some good while ago delivered himself into the hands of evangelical Christians. We've had a number of hints that Biblical prophecy concerning Israel, End Times, and all that, may have played a part in shaping White House policy in the Middle East.
But here, in this one sentence, he revealed in total clarity, the extent to which he has bought into the most simplistic, bedrock faux reality of the right-wing religionists.
Clearly the mountains of the dead weigh on him. Just as clearly, he's found a way to sleep under that crushing weight, a way to think himself beyond the horrors that he has caused into a happier world: "As your president, I say to all you loved ones and friends of our dead soldiers, never mind your sadness and feelings of loss, because the simple truth is that they are much better off now than we are and certainly much better off than they were before they died."
Some call it faith. What do you call it when the leader of an ostensibly secular nation uses his position of power to spin an unverifiable tale to justify and celebrate the deaths for which he is responsible? I call it obscene.

July 4th is Independence Day in the United States. A day when the country's Fathers set fourth a Declaration of Independence from British rule.
India also declared its independence from British rule in 1947.
Finland declared its independence from Russian rule in 1917.
In the early part of the last century Mexico declared its independence from Spain.
The list is endless. country after country declaring themselves free from the grips of another.
On May 14th, 1948, the 'People's Council of the Land of Israel' declared the following.

So just who was Israel declaring their independence from? The British had no control over 'their' country, according to THIS report the country was populated by Palestinians at the time, not Israelis.
Just as America itself was stolen from its native population, so was Israel. In both cases the 'justification' continues by dehumanizing the victims, both the First Nation People of North America and the Palestinians.
Perhaps that explains why the United States government has been the most loyal supporter of Israel since its inception. Perhaps that explains why they allow Israel to continue with its genocidal polices against the Palestinians, are they not guilty of the same crimes against their own Native population?
There are many 'whys' and very few answers coming forth, but the question remains.

If you are a US serviceman or woman and you fail to come back in one piece, you're pretty much on your own.
If you do receive medical services, you'll have to fight for every penny and what you'll get will be substandard at best.
Recently, the military has been sending bills to wounded soldiers.
Why?
Because of their injuries they failed to complete their tours of duty for which they received sign up bonuses. The government wants them to pay back the bonuses for the time they're not available for service.
It pays to read the fine print when dealing with the government.
It pays even better not to deal with the government at all unless you have a floor or two full of attorneys to deal with them...which is why the Fortune 500 et. al. have in essence taken over the country

Ain't it nice the way the US treats it's troops? catch a bullet and catch a bus ticket home, and BTW the bus tickets on your nickle.
