just another day 12:34pm
Sunday, I think, Feb something, lost track. Got up, kicked open the front door for a weather report, cobalt blue sky, a few puffy white clouds. Checked out the view, a coupla' cruise ships in the harbor, one more on the horizon, a sea plane touching down, probably in from St. Croix. Puledl on the old stinky sneaks, shorts and a shirt and headed doedwn to the waterfront for a little run/ walk start for the morning. About 11, fill the cooler, grabbed a few cuban cigars from the humidor, tossed in a towel and beach chair and headed down to the beach. The driveway gate was locked today, gotta park on the street and walk the 30 yards to the trail down to the beach, not too steep or far, 30, 40 more yards. Nice secluded stretch of sand, nice view of Megan's Bay beach, voted one of the top 10 in the world (Google that one). This is the 'nude' beach, not required like some resorts, but everyone does. Only a few other tanners here today, Sunday, might be a few more later, after church and the hangover from Sat nite. Nice yacht in the bay, 226 footer, few sailboats, jet ski or two. Megan's is busy, I can see a few hundred cruise shippers on the beach already, all the striped towels bunched up in little tourist buddy groups. Chair out, towel down, shorts off, hat on, drink mixed, cigar lit, book open... Ahhhhh, life is good. Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen.... About 84 with a nice breeze from the Northeast. 5 hours later... Back to the Jeep, back up the hill, shower and plan for a little dinner. Hmm, blackened Mahi Mahi or a steak tonight? Sitting up at Sibs, out on the deck under the flamboyant trees (like a Mimosa, but no stinky) with a good book, sipping on a Diet Coke and Gentleman Jack in my big pirate cup... mmmmmm. Just another day here in the Caribbean. Monday was fun, another good morning run, down to the dock by 3, my day to crew on the 65 foot sailboat, nice sunset dinner cruise. i get paid for this! Tax free!! Now, if this seems like your kind of fun, and you, and a lot of others, like the shape you are in and you try to keep it that way, think Iguanas are cuter than puppies, like the breeze better than A/C, have a little imagination, don't care what Paris, Bradjolena and Brittany are doing today, are a pleasure freak, open minded and daresay a little curious about things in general, are highly opinionated, neat and clean sometimes, sloppy and sweaty all the other times, smell nice on occasion and are good with knot.... shoot me a line. there is room here for a few of ya! Pack lite. Beware, it does get grey and cloudy here about once or twice a month, and cheese and gasoline is about 2 bucks more than in Florida. That might be offset a little by a 4 dollar bottle of run, 2.50 for gin, 8 bucks for bourbon.... we all suffer our own ways. That is my blog for the day, gotta go tan!
