I think when I was made they broke the mold out of sheer embarrassment "We don't wanna make that mistake again!"

Sometimes I think I'm the only one who likes chocolate covered olives.

I put pickle relish on apple pie, sour cream on pumpkin pie.

I like to put peanut butter on pizza. Chocolate sauce on corn on the cob.

I pour beer on Wheaties and I cover my ice cream with cayenne pepper.

I like BBQ glazed pork donuts filled with cole slaw.

I think it's funny to tell a group of I made them some Kool-Aid but I don't tell them I made it with hot water.

I like to give out scoops of ice cream on Halloween.

I like playing Christmas music on a juke box...in July.

When people ask where I'm from, I tell them "My mom and dad.".

When asked what size I wear I say "Extra medium.".

I think it's funny to get a puppy and train it to understand it's okay to shit on the couch, then put an ad in the paper for a free puppy to good home.

I used to work construction. I'll go back to those places now and knock on the door. When they answer I tell them I helped construct this place and then tell them I peed in the corner of their living room.

While heading south on I-15 through Payson Utah I just HAD to pull off the freeway and park on the onramp to get these shots...if I am not mistaken this was the first series of sunset shots with my new camera. Enjoy...

During my travels I saw some really beautiful trucks, most of which I saw during the trucker jamboree at the Iowa 80 one summer. They have a weekend of live music, truck show, competitions both in and out of trucks, food etc. etc. etc. It was a cool experience but once was enough

I would think, "Very cool of course, but damn, is that money well spent?" I can think of better ways to spend "extra"(?) money...but that's just me

I apologize for the grey tone of these pictures, it was my first digital camera and not a good one...overcast that day too. The first picture was at a truckstop and the rest were from the truck show...

The one above and below are the same truck

Per kinkyfem's request....

The sexiest thing I ever saw? Hmmmm....define "sexy" It could be a great many different things for different people...but, I know what she meant

You hear the stories all the time, truck drivers seeing couples engaged in sexual activities, getting flashed etc. In all the years I drove any kind of delivery truck all I ever saw up 'til a couple years ago was a guy wanking it Seriously?? I noticed he had pulled up next to me and slowed to pace me, I thought WTF? and looked over, sure as shit he was choking his chicken. Peeling his chile, bomping his baloney, milking his lizard...ok you get it He sped away and did the same thing to another truck in front of me. NOT something I was proud of

Within my last year and a half I did get some better "action" I saw a guy getting some highway head, saw a woman driving with her pants around her ankles and finally, FINALLY I got flashed On I-10 going through the desert way east of L.A. heading towards Phoenix I was passed by a couple in a Samurai or other Jeep type vehicle. Right as I looked over she leaned forward towards the window and pulled her shirt up WOWIE!! They were quite large and in extremely beautiful shape I was caught quite off-guard because all I could do was grin a little as they drove away. After a few minutes basking in the moment I thought "Cool, I finally got flashed!"

I saw very many more beautiful things....to be discussed later

I will be posting, from time to time, stories about my travels around the country as an over the road truck driver. For those who do not know about driving a truck I welcome your inquiries, it will give me an opportunity to provide some insight as well as educate and provide some guidelines to help keep the roads and highways a little safer Not to mention provide me a starting point to ramble on with a story or two

Unlike many years ago, the federal government has imposed much more strict rules for drivers over the past 10-15 years, for obvious reasons. The FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) is a very large book full of rules and regulations about driving a truck, what drivers are allowed to do and what they're NOT allowed to do. There are some drivers out there who choose not to follow some of these rules but for the most part all drivers are compliant and professional.

One thing people may not know is a driver's Hours of Service. A truck driver may only drive a total of 11 hours during a continual 14 hour period. Once a driver does something work related his 14 hour clock starts and when that 14 hours stops he MUST take a 10 hour break....14 hour clock + 10 hour break = 24 hrs. = one day, get it? On TOP of that, there is also a 70 hour clock: a driver may not drive more than 60 hours in 7 days or 70 hours in 8 days. Yes, it's a bit of a task to keep up with it all but if a driver (in the past, before electronic logs) kept his log book current it was fairly easy. With the Qualcomm or other electronic logs these days it's not much of an issue because the device keeps track of everything for the driver.

Some companies, like Werner (the company that employed me), Swift, Covenant, Schneider, Conway and other similarly large operations have their trucks governed for safety reasons as well as fuel consumption. Usually it's anywhere from 60-67 MPH, I know I know, it sucks but what can ya do? Given the aforementioned information I am sure it is much easier to understand now why one truck is passing another and it takes FOREVER!!! In all reality it takes maybe 2-3 minutes and once the one truck is out of the way you can easily zoom past and be on your way.

It looks like this is your first "lesson" about trucks in that drivers are under time constraints and if they do things like take FOREVER to pass another truck it is because they need to. So please have patience and give trucks plenty of room to maneuver, they'll certainly appreciate it

More to come....questions?

I recently received a comment on my blog about being a truck driver...wait...it was how great it would be to drive a truck.

I spent from the end of January '10 through September 6th '14 driving a truck around the country. I drove through all 48 connected states in less than 2 years...something I am led to believe is quite a task, many 20-40 year drivers haven't done it.

I also had several other "monumental" tasks on a list and completed all but one. These are not all based on a 1 day drive, they were just things I thought were interesting to accomplish. I drove for Werner and their trucks are governed at 65, this means the maximum a single driver can do in one day is 715 miles. But that's unrealistic because it would mean you'd have to start your clock and be driving 65 all day for 11 hours non stop. More on that another time, maybe

I did a border to border run, I did a coast to coast run (with an asterisk), I drove in 3 time zones in one day, I drove through 7 states in one day, I had a 709 mile day, a few 690s, a few more 680s, several 670s, I went over Donner pass twice in one night during winter...these last few weren't really on the list but certainly could have been...the only one I did not get to do was a corner to corner run: San Diego to somewhere in Maine or Seattle to Miami.

(Look, assmonkey, your title said something about questions, get to it already!)

What I would like to know primarily is if y'all would find it an interesting read, my travels over the road. If so, I would love to answer any questions y'all might have, about drivers, trucks, driving, truckstops, whatever!! I can dedicate posts to a single topic or cover a few at a time, maybe incorporate some of my personal experiences along the way.

So what say you?? Interested?

I was lucky enough to be able to schedule my driving so I could stop for the night in Walcott Iowa once in a while Yeah yeah, BFD you say...what's so awesome about Walcott Iowa?? For anyone who is not a truck driver it probably isn't anything worth fretting over if'n y'all missed it

However, Walcott is the home of the Iowa 80 - the world's biggest truckstop! You may have seen shows about it on the History Channel or the Travel Channel. A very nice facility with several gift shops, a museum, a fairly nice sit down restaurant, several fast food counters, a dentist, a large laundry room, a 100 seat theater, a large TV lounge, a chiropractor, a HUGE chrome shop and close to 900 parking spots. Yes indeed...trucker heaven

I was able to capture a series of 15 shots of this sunset one night, here are the better ones of the bunch...

It has been suggested to me I should change my main profile picture to this one...

Even though it's about 7 years old I don't think I have changed that much in my appearance and I prefer to represent myself in a photograph that is extremely current...the main profile picture I have now was taken a few weeks ago.

What say y'all?

The Lifestyle.

I know this term refers to those who are swingers. The swinging lifestyle

What I am curious about is why or how it has become to be known by just 'the lifestyle'. Shorter then 'swinging lifestyle' I would assume, making it easier to say

Wondering about the different ways people live their lives, philosophies, attitudes, morality...choices. Wouldn't it be an awesome thing to refer to living by The Golden Rule as The Lifestyle? That is in no way meant to be a slam against swingers nor is it an attempt to change the accepted meaning of 'the lifestyle'. It would just appear to me to be a more poignant application to those words.

It's just an observation is all, okay?

Something another member said as a comment on a previous post reminded me of a billboard I saw on Interstate 40 between Albuquerque and Moriarity..to the east. I have been contemplating whether to post it or not. I decided to post it as I think it is a very important thing to remind the general public to remember. Something to think about...

Question for the ladies

Once again a thought exploded inside my barren cranium and after thinking about it for a moment I decided to put it to the class as an essay question.

I see so many times women complaining about men not reading their profile and then initiating contact anyway when their profile clearly states the man is not within their aforementioned criteria. A most understandable complaint For a man should read a profile first to find out if there's a possible kinship or not. Sounds like common sense to me anyway

So here's the conundrum...

I also see men complaining about women not replying to their emails. While I firmly believe the vast minority of the male population here understands the ratio is extremely unbalanced I feel it's only polite to reply to an email received. However, knowing how many of the men are fairly rude or non cordial in a first email (based on things I've read in here) I cannot totally blame women for not replying.

So ladies, do YOU read a man's profile first to see if a reply is warranted? Certainly if he has not filled it out or it is full of one word responses, bad spelling, grammar etc. etc. etc. that would indicate he's not worth a reply. But if, through his words on his profile, you can see he is intelligent and not an assmonkey wouldn't it indicate you can reply honestly to him about your non-interest without feeling threatened he will retaliate with an assmonkey attitude?
