This is something that is going to be dragged through the mud by the media.

To be honest, let it go to court, if it does, and let it be settled there.

I'm sitting on the fence on this one, Cause could it be all of a sudden one woman makes a claim, and then the rest decide to jump on the band wagon and try for a piece of the pie in the sky.

Well, no one knows the truth but those involved. To be honest, I don't think it's our business to know until he's proven guilty.

In today's world with social media, cable, and the internet you have a vacuum that is being filled now so every one is noticing the things you do or have done.
Years ago you did not have these services and outlets like we do now. You can easily deny or hide from the allegations. It is unfortunate these claims have come to light to all of us. Back then there was no DNA to prove anything so it will kind of hard to do anything with it. I use to watch his shows and performances through the years. I certainly enjoyed his programs and other performances. The problem right now he is not speaking or trying to deny any thing happend with these allegations that is making it hard to believe him. In the court of law your innocent until proven guilty.

I can't help but feel that its all contrived. Today's society abhors anyone that is just too damned good and respectable, so any opportunity to imply that they're imperfect met with a surprise army of accusers coming out of nowhere to say "me too". Why have so many women all waited 30 years to make these allegations? Because the first one had an uncomfortable experience, let her imagination exaggerate it, made her worst interpretation public and now the sharks smell blood in the water.

Cosby may be just as human as any of us, but he's no grapist. He's just a rich good guy that some people want to tarnish. The whole matter stinks of today's modern fabricated cynicism.

People dredge up old stuff to discredit people with different opinions. How many times did Chappaquiddick come up for Teddy Kennedy? How many times will we hear about Jane Fonda visiting Viet Cong prisons and turning in the notes that American GIs handed to her to pass on to their families to let them know that they were still alive? Sometimes it is true, and often there is no prosecution for one reason or another. If you chuck your medals over the White House fence like John Kerry did, should you still get to claim earning them years later?

With the Cosby case, I'm sure that everything was looked at by a number of prosecutors and charges not pursued for various reasons. The statute of limitations is likely up on each and every one of the cases. But if you want to sully Cosby's name, you'll bring them up.

Not speaking about the accusations doesn't necessarily equal guilt. It could mean he is sick of the muckraking tactics of his opponents. Express the wrong opinion, and anyone will attack.

For me, it is between him and the women accusing him. Either he did it, or he didn't. For the women who Cosby settled with prior to court, those were civil and not criminal charges. I tend to believe victim more when he or she is looking for criminal prosecution for a crime rather than money for damages or pain and suffering. But that's just me.

We have had similar cases in the UK recently, a TV DJ, now dead, everybody seemed to know, so did the newspapers, everyone kept their mouths shut, he turned out to be the UK's prolific serial abuser.

Other prominant TV personalities also ended up in court, some were found not guilty, others sent to prison.

We now have a new term for this. Historic Sex Abuse

There's a plethora of cases like Cosby's over here, where people in positins of power, celebrity, authority have abused that and tried to take advantage of it. I've no idea how guilty or otherwise Mr Cosby is, he wa one of my heroes so I hope he's innocent. And whike I sympathise with the position that these things are historical, if we don't break the cycle where people in these positions view it almost as an entitlement then no we are derelict in ou duty to protect the vulnerable.........

I've heard about the Cosby case, but haven't been following it at all. Personally I hope he's innocent, but if he's not, he should receive his punishment just like any other person would.

I have no idea as whether or not he is guilty. At least one of his accusers has a dubious past. But even hookers can be r_aped.

I have always liked his humor. I have at least 6 of his albums.

As to why he is getting so much attention now may have something to do with the professional sports figures getting into so much trouble lately and Obama finally getting a lot of press scrutiny for his performance. In other words this is one case where I can see a bit of race bias being part of the issue. Important black men who have had the press downplay their problems for a number of years are now getting negative press attention. That may be spilling over to other black public figures.

The bots deleted my comment because of the "R" word. I understand why they did it but it is irritating when in context it is not prurient or advocating.

The perversity of the universe is unbounded.

Oh so the nail a celebrity business is catching on your side of the planet too now.

The recent Jimmy Saville case in the UK sparked a witch hunt over there with the most prominent celebrity to have been brought to book none other than Rolf Harris and I hear they are now gunning for Sir Cliff Richard.

Considering how far back some of these indiscretions go, I expect there are many more once untouchable celebrities looking over their shoulders.

And the problem is indiscretions that may have been considered normal acceptable behaviour 50 years ago are now deemed offensive. These days you almost need a signed document drawn up by lawyers to get into a woman's knickers.

However I don't think you have much to worry about. You are a nobody that nobody has any interest in. But dammit, I am a bloody knight!

I saw the number of women making these accusations and came to the opposite conclusion. I don't believe that the number of accusation is proportional to the guilt. Sure, its possible that one or two would be intimidated and clam up. That seems more plausible. But I have a very hard believing that 13 women over a span of 40 years all just decided to stay quiet. Given the numbers, you'd think that at least one would have spoke out when it happened..

Many of these allegations date back to the 1960's, long before Cosby had established himself as the untouchable, highly respected father figure that he created through the persona of his on screen characters of Dr. Cliff Huxtable and Chet Kincaid. Back then, he was just a stand up comic telling funny stories about life growing up in the projects.

I'm leaning towards guilty -- especially with that routine he did on the drug and the number of women. Yet this topic brought about another discussion here I heard on the radio. It to has gotten under my skin. If a female accuses someone of r*a*p*e and it is proven false --- should she face charges? That basically ruins someone's life; yet time and again it's proven false and they get away with the false accusation. In the cases heard on the radio one gentleman got the girl admitting she lied on tape and the other gentleman received a letter in prison of her apologizing, like a decade later. I feel the person should be up for charges!! BIG TIME.

*Deep Sigh* I'm always late to a good party.

I'm surprised people are so surprised by these allegations. First, shortly after his son was killed, a young woman names Autumn Jackson tried to blackmail him with the story that she was his daughter by a woman not his wife.* He admitted that he had been paying her mother since her birth believing that her was Jackson's father. You don't get that kind of smoke unless there is fire.

He has said that in the 60s and 70s he was out of control and had spent a lot of his I Spy $$ so his wife put her foot down and took complete control of the money to keep him from bankrupting them. If you are drinking, drugging, gambling and hanging out at the Playboy mansion, it's not a big leap to imagine sexual shenanigans as well.

About a decade or so ago, some woman accused him of mauling her when she came to dinner in his hotel room.

In the 60s and 70s when a lot of this happened, women who had been in Playboy, were models, actresses, showgirls, or star fuckers, were pretty much fair game for other men. Behaviors that we would clearly recognize as sexual assault today were a matter of, "the woman's a whore she got what she deserved".

Sometimes cultural mores catch up with you and bit yu in the ass.

*for the record, I've long suspected his son's murder was tied to some kind of payback for something Cosby had done .

If twenty women tell the same story it seems highly unlikely they all just made up the facts. Sexual assault is fairly common and celebs feel entitled to sex from others. The cases will not be heard in court as they are too old. The statute of limitations has run in all these cases. I enjoyed the humor, but never worshipped Cosby. He is just a flawed human, like the rest of us. Only richer and more famous.
