the company you keep
the company you keep there once was a man from nantucket while my niece and brother were visiting, we took a ride up to the north shore to see the gloucester fishing village and had a wondrous day of silly and satisfying. as we hit 95 to head home, the radio warned us of a long delay. nothing much to do with a long delay other than sit it out and have some giggles. we talked about the driving quirks of our dad. spotted folks in cars next to us and made up stories about their lives. did this little ditty we'd made up after noting an anachronistic visual in the village and we sang it six ways to sunday....we did it gospel, we did it elvis, country, bennett, operatic, show tune, etc., etc. then we did limericks..... and tom swifties my brother started the nantucket one and stopped - refusing to tell her the words..........immediately upon returning home, she googled it and is now fully aware that limericks can be filthy traded stories about our misspent youth, about her grand parents and their pecadillos. and laughed like loons. all the grim faces passing us and we're having a blast. the company you keep You cannot conceive the many without the one. |

I've heard the summer traffic to Cape Cod can be horrendous; you've given me a good lesson in keeping a good attitude about it!

There once was a man from Nantucket Whose dick was so long he could suck it. And he said with a grin As he wiped off his chin, "If my ear were a cunt, I would fuck it." I recall a road trip I once made with three of my best buddies. We drove from St. Louis, MO to Westport, CT. We were all recent college graduates and the eldest amongst us had managed to temporarily lose his good judgment and propose matrimony to a young lady from Westport. (He was the first of our group to drop.) Three of us had been recruited to stand up for him at his wedding. We sang John Denver's 'Country Road' (in four-part harmony) the entire way out to the east coast. By the time we arrived, we had it down pat! With our vocal chords well lubricated by cold Budweiser, we entertained those who attended the backyard wedding reception. I am told that we delighted the crowd, but everything else remains a blur even to this day!

Glad ya'll had a great time. spotted folks in cars next to us and made up stories about their lives. Loved this! Reminds me of something I read in Harry Crew's memoir A Childhood about making up stories using figures from a Sears catalogue. John Lee Hooker Recommended: [blog lucyjane78]
