dream lover

with my new neuro meds, my dreams are extremely vivid and well...odd.

they feature people from my life but not the ones i think of as central...the peripheral people in a starring role...

last night i dreamed about a woman who has contributed to the agency...she had a new hairdo in the dream and was vehemently telling me that she was taking over for me...clearly expecting that that would make me happy....it didn't. i jsut kept lookign at her hair.

next in line was a parking dream...i parked in a 15 minutes space and then spotted a 2 hour space so went back to get my car. when i returned to the entrance of the parking area, it was blocked with a gazillion brightly wrapped presents.

and a man who i work with occasionally and do not trust, was picking me up for a date and was all smarmy and touchyfeely and i was some idiotic giggling schoolgirl.

often a dream will resolve into awareness during meditation. this bunch seem to exist outside meaning.

as you age, do you still have flying dreams?
i wish i did.........

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

My brain seems to go to sleep when I do and awaken when I do. I no longer have vivid dreams or perhaps I do and just can't remember them in the morning due to my advanced age. Hell, WE, I'm gettin' so old I can't even remember when I last had a colorful erotic dream nor who starred in it! And you would think that a member of this site, being exposed to all the eye candy that is to be found anywhere, might have occasional vivid erotic dreams!

I think I must be 'over the hill'.

No, I can't remember the last time I had a flying dream and they were so fun.

I love the imagery of the car being blocked by a bunch of brightly wrapped presents.

In my latest bizarro dream, I was out riding my bike. I stopped for some reason, and in trying to dismount from the bike, I got all tangled up and fell over. George Bush emerged from a nearby house and wanted to try to help me, and I was being standoffish. He was acting like he was drunk. Laura came out of the house and I could tell she was pissed that he was drunk out in public. I distinctly remember that he said, "I've got something that will perk you up" and then mimicked smoking a joint. Anyway, I finally got myself up and going again, and then he wanted to give me a push to help me get started, and was chasing me down the sidewalk to try to do that

I know that medication..... you dream in technicolor and the dreams are so real, they are surreal.

Haven't had a flying dream in years but now my dreams tend to be what I do a lot of such as blogging, chatting or working dreams.... go figure.

I can't remember if I'm the good twin or the evil one.

my dreams are all weird lately...I remember them right when I wake, but by the time I've showered, they vanish forever...that is probably a good thing! lol!

I don't think I've ever had a flying dream...but I have the falling one...

hugs,
ce

When I was young in my teens, I had a dream where I found myself in a First National Grocery store with a girl I was madley in love with.
(unfortunately, she was allready out of my life). I was with her there but had no knowledge of our relationship, but, I was in a perfect state of calm and love.We left with our groceries, and walked to an apartment building a short distance away. The hallway of the building was amazing, with thousands of brightly colored lights, like the midway of a carnival. The lights did nothing to relieve me of my feeling of calm and love, and my joy of being with the one I love.We entered our apartment and I felt very comfortable as we put away our groceries, then for some reason I looked out the window, and saw the back yard was a dull, unkempt, dreary place, with a mostly grey weathered color. I woke up then with a calm lonely feeling, still with love, and alone.
It was almost forty years ago that I had that dream. It was a haunting memory for many.In recent years, I have been shocked to be with someone I love, look out the window, and see a vision of a yard just like that dream.

Seems we "mature" folks are runnng out of dreams. I don't have them unless there's a big change going on and then they seem to be just nuero-processing of stuff from the day or the change or left over unprocessed stuff from some time back.
But dreams are pretty interesting because they work in "images" we've subconsciously attached to concepts/words. New images need to be assigned a concept/word(s) and/or visa versa. And then the context in which they are presented may create a whole new concept/construct. That's why "dream books" that give interpritations are pretty much hogwash intended to make the author some cash at the expense of our naivite and hope. We should write our own book(s)

Watch out for the meds. Don't know what they may be but if they're the prescribed industrial stuff be-aware. They can turn on you and screw your nervous system into a jittery mass of anxiety and worse. Remember this: whatever neuro drugs are supposed to do - eventually the opposite happens. My ex is the perefect example - and now she can't get off them. Very sad.

the meds are for seizure control pan....and seem to be working well other than this dream thing.....

i can tie certian things together in my dreams or carry the dream into my meditation and do some work on it there.

these are different ....... fellini-esque..
