Explaining 'SPAM-SCAM' Fake/Scam profiles ... OR, How Good/Bad Is Your Short-Term Memory?

.

Several times over the past few years I've received emails from Gentlemen on this site, first thanking me for making them aware of the various types of scammers that infest this site, but also asking me what "SPAM-SCAM" fake/scam profiles are.

As I went through the Newest Members (ALL women between 18 and 99 years of age, from ANYWHERE in the world) that have been posted in the past 24 hours, I noticed that today would be a good time to expand on this explanation as an addition to the other Blog posts I've written, or should I just call it:

Fake/Scam Profiles 101 - SPAM SCAM

For the past several months I've noticed a decrease in SPAM-SCAM profiles to the point that the "Aubrey" SPAM-SCAM fake/scam profiles were the only ones showing up with any consistency.

In case you missed them, there would only be a few each day with pictures of the same woman (often they were posted with DIFFERENT pictures of the SAME woman), but always containing the same profile Introduction or Headline wording to include the name "Aubrey".

ALL of them used different geographical locations in Canada, the UK, Australia, or the USA, but their retardate redundancy each day became so recognizable that I stopped seeing comments under their pictures from those men who were obviously either newbies to the site or so horny they couldn't recognize a fake/scam profile if their life and/or wallet depended on it!

Today's lesson, boys and girls, brought back to mind that there will ALWAYS be "Aubrey-like" fake/scam profiles with us on this site!

The following are spot-on examples of SPAM-SCAM profiles inasmuch as they all follow the same moronic pattern.

1. They ALL use basically the same name with numbers afterwards

2. They ALL use pictures of the same woman, some are ALL the same picture and others are different poses, but still of the same woman.

3. The ALL use the same wording in their profile Introductions or Headlines.

4. The ages are ALL the same, or a year or two apart.

5. They ALL are from different geographical locations.

*** Although most of these profiles are usually ALL 'lumped' together on the same search page of Newest Members, some of them are spread out.

Where these scammers get these pictures from is beyond the search capabilities of Google search for image or TinEye, but if I was to guess, I'd say that one possibility is that these pictures are of ex-girlfirends/wives that some sick individuals somehow see as a sort of personal revenge!

The main reason I thought to add this post today, is, like I said, I haven't seen many of them in the past few months, but also to hopefully educate a few of those men that left their 'newbie/horny' comments under their profile pictures on some of them today!

Yeah the scammers are keeping their game up.

Patti_Kake replies on 4/27/2019 10:23 am:
Fortunately, the quantity of SPAM-SCAM fake/scam profiles have dwindled, lately, but as long as their are retardate scammers out there, they will ALWAYS be on this site.

Thank you, very good explanation.
Other signs for a fake profile are
- the location looks strange (wrong state or region for the city)
- you are asked to visit other websites or provide credit card details for "verification"
- the picture doesn't fit with the profile description

Patti_Kake replies on 4/27/2019 10:28 am:
Unfortunately, there too many ways to spot fake/scam profiles, but it's usually just a matter of looking through the Newest Members every day. They become VERY obvious after even a few days of doing so.

Ah anyone can save pics from various sites and post them.
Have seen many pics on various sites on here.. amazes me that the hair color changes but the face and outfits do not

Patti_Kake replies on 4/27/2019 10:31 am:
While what you say is true, these SPAM-SCAM pictures are not found on recent Internet web sites, which Google search for image and TinEye usually find and display.

"Where these scammers get these pictures from is beyond the search capabilities of Google search for image or TinEye"

My go-to for sc/sp/ammer-hunting as well. Those pics don't register as they've gotten wise to image lookup detection.

Same question ? Where do the pics originate ?
Several theories:
1. Created from scratch for just this purpose by Russian 'porn mills' or something similar
2. 'Borrowed' from FB, Igram et al which makes them hard to trace and because people just love to post selfies so there's a huge volume of pics ripe for harvesting.

Patti_Kake replies on 4/27/2019 10:36 am:
I don't know about any "Russian porn mill" sites, although many web sites with "ru" in their URL do show up when using Google/TinEye, but pictures from Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Pinterest/et al do show up all the time.

Good post, thanks. I assume (yes that word) every profile is fake to some degree till I know otherwise.

Patti_Kake replies on 4/27/2019 10:52 am:
It's unfortunate that your presumptions are such, but it is understandable.

Thank you. We have been getting lots of them showing up in Ireland. They stick out like a sore thumb.

Patti_Kake replies on 4/27/2019 10:59 am:
That is unfortunate for you as there are fewer members and possible opportunities there than in the USA.

I had the "Sandra"s commenting on my photos recently, three of them with the same demographics you mention.... I guess their algorithm is a little off... but then again, all three profiles were already removed by the time I went to look.

Patti_Kake replies on 4/27/2019 11:20 am:
I get comments on my profile pictures from 20-something women all of the time. I can only guess that it's in retaliation for reporting their fake/scam profiles, or others that the scammers have posted. Regardless, I just delete them. I'm only interested in hearing from straight men who have grown up and matured beyond the 'horny knuckle-dragger' stages of their lives!

With A.I. [Artificial Intelligence] software , faces can be created....they're not actual people who exist anywhere.

Patti_Kake replies on 4/28/2019 2:11 pm:
I refuse to believe that the caliber of these individuals, who post these fake/scam profiles on this site, have the intellectual or financial capabilities to incorporate such technology into them.

Yeah...I just had a Nigerian scammer on here...I knew right away though as "she" claimed to live 2 towns over but yet had an LA phone number....

Patti_Kake replies on 4/28/2019 2:19 pm:
Cell phone numbers cannot be relied upon as a falsification of where anyone resides. My cell number is the same one I had when I lived 900 miles away from Connecticut. It didn't/doesn't make any sense to change it since I moved here over 7 years ago.

Keep up the good work !!

Scammers damn near outnumber the real members on this site anymore.

Patti_Kake replies on 4/28/2019 2:30 pm:
I actually find the "work" of doing this relaxing, and it doesn't take me long at all to skim through 800 to 900 of these profiles each day on the Newest Members search pages.

I'm still doubtful that scammers will ever surpass 50% of the total membership on this site, and with the cessation of postings by the 'flood' scammers, especially those from Ghana and Nigeria, who used to post hundreds of these fake/scam profiles EVERY DAY, I would guess the current levels are down to the low 30's percentage-wise.
