Not the one

Written when I was diagnosed with MS.

I shall come out the other side even better than before.
You are not the one to beat me,
Not the one to bring me down;
I am stronger than you
This is not the end.
My soul you cannot touch
Tho you do pose the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced,
Having to relearn all that life has taught me.
Starting from the beginning,
Crawl to walk, full sentences and thoughts;
Step at a time, one foot in front of the other,
A newborn with all the fascination of the new and unexperienced;
Fair is no longer a word I can believe in,
Pride can no longer be a factor,
The intestinal fortitude I have carried throughout my life,
Will become the strength to draw from;
I am not willing to quit just yet,
Too much to see and learn,
No you are not the one to beat me,
