This is a fantastic idea! Three cheers for the engineers of Norway! Of course there will be unforeseen problems that arise along the way as the tunnels are built, but I have every faith in the ability of the creators to solve those problems.

At one time America too, was the land of great ideas and innovation on such a large scale...For example, most of the Southwest is a land parched from lack of water. At the same time Southern California shrivels from lack of water, the NW area has too much rainfall.. Tunnels along the coast, similar to what Norway is proposing could be built, not for cars, but for the transport of water from the NW down to the L.A. area.

If Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada had abundant water, the Southwest could become the supplier of fresh vegetables and fruit for the entire world, and help to end the lopsided trade balance that the U.S. has suffered from for years.
