The problem with over consumption

One thing that does suck about having an overly active sex life is that it does seem to influence what you do. You can't go on vacation without finding a FWB or two. You think about it when you're at work, wondering when you're going to get fuck. You wake up horny at 3am. I really don't believe a lot of people truly understand this. I don't know about words like "nympho" or "sex addict" but I do know it is something that, even if you live your life with friends and family, with hobbies and other interest, sex always seems to be consuming. And frankly, the more you get the more you want. Having that constant need isn't like everyone thinks. It's not easy being horny all the damn time.

It's true, with any kind of addiction, abusive use or need. Enough is never enough, and there is never ever enough of what we think we need.

Anything done half-heartedly will net you an equivalent result. ~CH

Addiction is that which prevents us from functioning in the other aspects of our lives, whether work, family, or personal (and interpersonal) responsibilities.

You can be highly sexual without being oversexed... and you are allowed to have a fantasy life... but if it does start to become truly disruptive, that's when you need to start asking questions...

Has it gotten there yet?

Separately, welcome to the blogosphere! There are a number of smart, funny, engaging bloggers here (the wheat among the chaff)... hope you'll stick around and check 'em out...

You might also post some of your questions are you explore them, and see if folks have different takes. At its best, the blogosphere is a pretty good community... (and at it's worst it's a drama-fest. Don't play those games and you'll do quite well.)

Stop in, read, and offer comments at my "swinging as seen in the media" blog, "Confessions of a Lifestyle Man" humorlife, which is also the home of the monthly virtual symposium. New post: The Virtual Symposium Returns Lets Pick A Topic
