How Important Is For The Man To Make First Contact Here?
Everyone is different. Every setting is different. Every time period can be different. While we (at least in the US) live in a world where women are more "aggressive" then they were 50 years ago, they still don't approach men as much as men approach women.

I think back on my time here a couple of years ago. The vast majority of the "women" who contacted me first were fake. That is, a lot were scams, prostitutes, immature men/boys trying to play pranks, etc.

In your experience, is HotMatch.com different or does it parallel the in-person world?

(Sorry, this had to be a hetero version. I could not think of a way of phrasing that could apply to straight & gay interactions.)
Men need to make the first contact here more often than the in-person world.
It is about the same as the in-person world.
Women here make the first contact more often than the in-person world, but still not a lot.
Women here frequently make the first contact more.
