I am not one who follows celebrity lives, hype, drama etc. I couldn't care less It does not affect me directly and I wouldn't like all the BS associated with being a "star" of one type or another. There are plenty of celebrities who you never hear about, mostly because they live their lives free of doing things newsworthy...they're clean and therefore the media and paparazzi aren't interested because they aren't getting into trouble (so when I become a star I'll be like this )

However, as of late I have noticed one celebrity who does things quite newsworthy and I always hope the things this person does becomes contagious. Giving away money, making personal gestures towards fans, helping fans, surprising fans, including fans etc. etc. etc. COMPLETE SELFLESSNESS!!!! Sharing the wealth so to speak

Something I can never understand, people who are more than well off not helping others who desperately need it. I have always said when I win the lottery there will be sooooo many people I could help......remember that Golden Rule thing?

I know there are other celebrities who engage in said activity but lately it seems this one is more prevalent. You'd think with all the positive coverage she gets from this (and I know that is not the reason she does it) it would become a trend of sorts...being nice, helping others, giving...just to be nice to your fellow human beings I've done things like this, on a smaller scale of course, so I know how good it can make one feel

I personally think she is drop dead gorgeous and envy the man who gets to spend quality time with her. I do not know her music, other than maybe a small clip or two played along with any story about her good deeds. In MY eye she is a shining example of the proper way to be...I know there are others who do this as well but I cannot think of who they are at this moment ...help me out people, who are they?

I would not be surprised at all if sometime in the near future the celebrity community comes out with The Taylor Swift Humanitarian Award to honour those who do such positive things for others

Everyone is on a different plane of intelligence. Some people's plane has not taken off yet!!

I am becoming a bigger and bigger fan of hers mostly due to her acts of kindness. How much does it cost to acknowledge fans? To give a fan the thrill of taking a pic with them? To donate some money to help them with some thing that is overwhelming to them but a drop in the bucket for the star? To sing a song for them? To be kind to the 'little people', your fans? Not much. And the best part is that she is a young person doing this ... the world has hope still. There are a lot of others that help a lot of people, Oprah and Ellen being two that come to mind, and they do it in small ways and also on a grand scale. If I had the riches these people have I would want to make this almost my full time job ... giving to others. Oh what a feeling!!!!!

I think along those same lines...it always feel good to help someone else out even if it might seem like something insignificant

Giving to others is what I did all my life, except the last few years, for health reasons and others, and it is the best feeling of all!!!!! I call it compassion, something we see less and less, so I applaud her for her generosity, hoping that maybe others will join her in such a grateful effort!!

WITHOUT PASSION LIFE IS NOTHING

My sentiments exactly...and like dayzee just said, she's young so it will have more impact on younger people for many years to come

I can't understand the greed of some people. They have more money they could ever hope to spend in their life, so why not share it around to those who are struggling?

Yes ma'am!! I see no point in a 15,000 square foot mansion with 2 kitchens 8 bedrooms with full bathrooms attached etc. Living within one's means is perfectly respectable and even more so when you are generous and charitable

She sure is setting a great example for all. I have always thought that generosity comes from the heart. What really irks me though is when people say you OWE it to others to share . I have actually had people tell me that! I am far from rich, but I make the decisions ,not anyone else. Generosity has to be felt
