SexCapades ..Sex Tourism .... Sex vacations..are they worth it? A few days ago, at the Lakers home game / season opener, I ran in to a good friend and an acquaintance I've know since high school. It was nice to see them and talk to them at the game and catch up since we don't talk on a regular basis, except at a gathering, social event or party once or twice every year. They were both in exceptional spirit. laughing and joking like we were still in high school. It seems they had just scheduled a trip in December to the Dominican Republic. That country / destination just seemed a bit random, they also had told me it was their first trip to the Caribbean. Why the Dominican, when there are several other places that seemed more... let me say it this way "exciting". They could visit the British Virgin Islands, St. Lucia, U.S. Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Turks & Caicos, St. Kitts & Nevis or Jamaica or Barbados. Then they spilled the beans about their plan. It was a for a sex vacation or sexcapades. My mouth must have dropped, especially when they suggested that I could come along. A Sex Vacation? Of course while in my twenties (my swinging years), my older lover and I visited Sandals in Jamaica in the early 80s. It was a swingers resort filled with a lot of drinking and sex. yes it was truly an experience that has helped shape my life today, yet that is not what they are talking about. These guys are planning on flying to The Dominican Republic and visiting a resort there that has promised them sex sex and more sex! My smile actually masked my frightened laughter. These guys were the Jocks of the high school we attended. My friend was one of the most popular guys in our high school, dated the cutest women and so many knew and liked him even at the surrounding schools. What happened for him to want to fly 3000 miles to get fucked by young tender nubile women at a cost that might not be in only money? Five countries account for 96% of all people living with HIV in the region: Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. And remember, Haiti and the Dominican Republic share a border. The odds are good, since the goods may be odd. What the fuck were they thinking. For the same money, if they are paying for sex, Las Vegas is 4 1/2 hours northeast. They could rent a great room at the Bellagio or the Wynn or even MGM and be serviced by three four or five women....for less money and less possibility of contracting a communicable disease especially a deadly one. This one spins my head and makes me think how many men take these sex -cations? Several guys I know have flown to Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and even the Philippines for vacation and while they were there like many red blooded and horny american men, they have met and fucked women there. I have done the same on several of my vacation, so that is nothing new for me. My purpose of the trips abroad to Asia, Middle East and South America were usually for curiosity of the country (Nile River, Brazilian Carnival, Rain Forest,Golden Triangle <-- I am sober was just curious about the beauty) its culture, sightseeing, historical significance and at least for me the sex always happens often when travelling. Perhaps, they are right and my viewpoint is completely tilted and off track. Maybe my sexual adventures that happened in my younger years are not a compass to assess theirs. Our lives all have taken a different path. The sexcapades, at least for them it is happening (maybe again) right now.
