If the incident you are referring to is the data incident, know that many companies have had data breaches. It's not great, it's not fun, but there are protections... The blogging community, as you point out, offers a lot of access to other minds. It is possible to participate as a standard member. Might you consider that? My account was one of the ones hacked. I have slightly modified my name, but I am keeping going because -- as you note -- the people here are pretty terrific. And yes, I too wish you lived closer... when are you visiting America, either for the first time or again? Sad to see you go young lady. But it does seem that all the decent folks in here eventually decide to bugger off leaving even the less decent like yours truly wondering what purpose it serves to remain here. I came here about 10 years ago, very delighted to have found a place to express my daft ideas. And although I have even dafter ideas now I really cant be bothered to write blog posts anymore. Perhaps I am just the eternal optimist living in hope. But after reading this post I am afraid I have become a lot more pessimistic. Best of luck with your many other activities Miss Pearl. Ah McTique, what a shame that this ongoing nonsense has finally got to you. You're one of the best and the blogging community here will be far worse off without you. This is not a 'sad' occasion. In fact, it is a 'HAPPY' one. You've achieved your purpose and now it's time. There used to be a tv show called Kung Fu many decades ago starring David Carradine. There was a line in the show that said: When you can snatch the pebbles from my hand, its time to leave..... meaning that the Master had taught the student everything they could and it was now time to move on. It will be sad not reading your blog, but I am very happy for you. *hugs*
