The scare and the good people in life

Always nice to have your faith in people reaffirmed!

Yesterday I got a phone call I always dread from the paramedics to tell me my 83 year old father had had a bad fall on the street and was off to hospital.

So I climb in my transit and go to tell my 80 year old mum that Dad`s had an accident and we need to get out to hospital. After the usual nightmare parking we find him slightly confused/shaken with a nasty cut to the head and an egg sized lump on his elbow but otherwise ok and being well looked after.

6 hours later after all the lovely staff at the hospital are happy with his condition we can leave and get him home.

10 mins after getting in the house a knock comes at the door. It turns out to be the lady that found Dad just after he had fallen and called the ambulance. She just popped `round with a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates for him and to make sure he was OK. We dont know this lovely lady and may never see her again but such an act of kindness is always a great reminder at just how great some folks can be.

So I ask you all to do the world a favour and just smile at a stranger today - a small thing but it all goes around folks!!

What the hell-Life`s too short!

Yup-too many folks too quick to have a go at the NHS. Had an American girlfriend and she was always having a go at them for being too slow until I pointed out that if she was still living in the US she would have had no treatment as she wouldn`t have been able to afford it.....
