Enchanting eyes

Or a missed connection.
I do like to step out of the house from time to time and go to town. That is to say I run errands, pick up the mail, and on rare occasion stop to see folks along the way.
On day in the not too distant past, I had a nice chance or so I thought to perhaps do more.
On getting groceries in town I was the person being checked through when I managed a triple (that is to say got three ladies to laugh and smile at once) while being checked out. the last of the three and latest to wander over was slightly shorter than me, with dark curly hair and enchanting eyes.
We exchanged a few words on appearance, mine commenting on her eyes, and her on my hair. Not much I know, but ice breakers are a start to all things one way or the other. And before I could pursue further conversation something distracted me.
I had and still have the nagging feeling I left unfinished business there. Not that I figure I am a catch of any sort, but still, I felt I could have gone a step further in getting a name or number.
As it were I left well enough alone and went about the rest of my business that day.
Now a question, on missed connections. do you have them from time to time? if so how do you deal with them? do you go back make introductions and see where it leads, or leave it alone as the moment was lost? My inquiring mind wants to know. ....
