You (Didn't) Ask for It... So I decided to suck it up, buttercup, and take the full frontal plunge. Please be gentle, unless my photo inspires a more passionate response! I don't know why this feels so much more naked than the other pictures I have posted. There's nude and there's naked, you know? This photo hits at my most deep-seated fears about my body, the ones that have been haunting me since the fourth grade, when a mean little girl came up and asked me if I was pregnant (referring to my prominent belly). I've had a belly since I was born, and it wasn't baby fat, as my mother promised me it was. As an adult, it didn't matter if I was a size 4 or a size 22 (I've been both and everything in between), I have always had that belly. Nowadays I put a brave face on it, and try to convince myself I'm hawt, hott, or just plain ol' hot, and then I feel that way, too. I do a pretty good job of convincing myself. And, indeed, I truly believe if I did not have the extra padding I wouldn't have my ultra-delectable tits, which bring much joy to many lives around the world including mine. But confronted with photographic evidence, it's hard to pretend I'm something I'm not. This is why I have posted so many photos. This is why I cam. I am trying to lose that body shame I'm sure most of us have by flooding myself with these images, hoping to short-circuit that practically innate negative reaction to them. It doesn't hurt that so many people have been complementary! It's very therapeutic. UPDATE: I chickened out. I had it posted overnight, but then took it down, my confidence failing me. I'm such a coward! I should be like, look! gaze upon me in my full womanly glory! Behold the human embodiment of the goddess Aphrodite! I am the madonna and the of babylon... no, not that Madonna. I'm getting carried away... So weave a circle round me thrice and close your eyes in holy dread For I on honeydew hath fed And drunk the milk of paradise... SECOND UPDATE: The kindly gentlemen commenters have emboldened me anew, so I will post the picture again, although I may withdraw it if I get cold feet again... Thank you, sweethearts!  |
