Questions on changes in marriages

Do you think American marriages are changing? According to an article in the Dec 1, 2015 Economist, fewer women are getting married and the number of women who marry before the age of 30 has fallen from 50% in 1960 to about 20% today. While highly educated and financially independent women were once among the least likely to get marred now they are getting married at a faster rate than the less educated. And they often choose highly educated men.

The divorce rate has fallen from 5.3 per 1,000 people in 1981 to 3.2 divorces per 1,000 people in 2014.

All this means that women with less education are stuck with a stock of lower class men. Many of these marriages do not offer a very good deal for the women.

So given the focus of this site and today's changing values, how do you interpret all this?
