I'm been part of a very groups on here abd they don't seem to be very active. Has anyone meet cool people from the groups they joined?

I haven't seen any posting for the groups I've joined to actually meet as a group but I have messaged members within and met

That's cool that you've met and chatted with some people in your groups. I've tried to set up done meet and greets but people do not respond to those posts. I've sent individual messages to certain people too and gotten few responses. It's seems like people from far away want to interact more than those close by.

Not me. I have joined a few groups, but like you, find that most are not very active at all. So I tend to pay little attention to them. I wouldn't meet someone unless I talked with them privately first anyway, so it still needs the pm component.

I don't understand the purpose of joining a group, of supposedly like minded interest, and not trying to be involved or participate in it. The groups I've joined have a good amount of people on them but I don't see much happening between the members unless they all are meeting secretly.
