I'M LOOKING FOR ADVICE AND EVEN A RECOMMENDATION
I'M LOOKING FOR ADVICE AND EVEN A RECOMMENDATION I’ve always had two e-mail accounts, one for work and one for non-work purposes. Many years ago, I stopped using my work e-mail address for non-work purposes as my employer, like most employers, monitors e-mails on their system. It’s not that I’ve got anything to hide with my e-mails but I just resent this type of surveillance. I’m not one of those people who think if you’ve done nothing wrong then there’s no reason to hide. I just don’t want to want to live in a surveillance state or even a surveillance society. Like most people, I value my privacy. My private e-mail account, a BT Yahoo! Account, is playing up big time; I don’t why as I’m not very IT-savvy. But there’s something wrong; my incoming mail and outgoing mail are all mixed up and I’m not getting much spam mail like I used to - not that I want spam mail but I realise by receiving spam it means my email account is working. I’m looking for a new e-mail account. I don’t want to pay for this service and I don’t want to be greeted by too many adverts where one accidental click leads to an advert. And I’d like my new e-mail system to be easy to use without all the extras - I just want to send and receive e-mails. I don’t want to subscribe to Google and the like who want to harvest all my personal information to use for the profit. I just want to communicate! Apart from social media accounts, how many e-mail accounts do you have? Can you recommend a basic but free e-mail service to me? No real recommendations. Just wanted to chime in about the privacy thing. No one ever has anything to hide......until they do. And then it is too late. I too value my privacy for that reason. The average person does not know what they have to hide, or should be hiding, or have the tools by which to hide it. For example, if I look up too many prices for car parts on the internet, are we moving to a world where my insurance company can find out about that and assume I've been in an accident and jack my rates up? At what point does this cross the line? So I'm very pro-privacy. The effects of the additional criminals and crimes that go unsolved, while not ignoring them, still does not justify the ill-effects of the intrusion to the common person.

I have just reckoned, my email software (Thunderbird) picks up mail from 13 mailboxes, 3 are professional, others are personal, created during the many changes of ISP, my internet connection is so technically bad and after-sales service Of suppliers is so pitiful that I am forced to change often. The old e-mail addresses are never deleted by ISPs. No email address is better or worse than another. I know that smoke signals are never spammed [image] Sommaire Et la souffrance vgtale L'être idéal ? Un ange dévasté par l'humour. E.M. Cioran

just a word of advice , no one has privacy the government is monitoring all communications 24 7 ,phone, cell ,email, all online activity , it cannot be avoided ,it is legal by the foreign powers survelliance act of 1974 and the patriot act , if you are using the w w w . they record everything . and they use it to control everyone , even the president is being watched by these a holes. if you want private send a letter they don't watch that as much since no one uses it and it's too hard . otherwise get a private ip you pay for , but it is monitored too .

I think all ISP's either monitor, collect or pass on data to third parties..... G mail or outlook are quite decent. If you get a new account, you could them set the old BT one to forward all new mail to new address. Then you won't have to visit the BT one anymore. I think! You may ask mother google as well, as she knows everything! I am an ex BT customer. Never again. Best of luck.

I currently have 5 mail accounts spread across three domains. Y, G and Aol (don't judge.) I go through Y mail addys pretty quickly, using them for a while, then abandoning them. Now that kik is in the world, I've noticed I'm using that more often than anything else to chat with potential meets.

May I suggest Hotmail.com or gmail.com or perhaps one at yahoo.com..

Apart from social media accounts, how many e-mail accounts do you have? 2 Yahoo - 1 "regular" acct and 1 for racing related stuff. 4 Gmail - 1 for here, 3 for different work/business purposes. None have my full name Can you recommend a basic but free e-mail service to me? Y or G are you simplest options. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Some time ago, I mistakenly clicked somewhere and ended up getting an email ad showing (which I never open) at the top of all my other emails. It changes every day and I was told I would have to pay to clear it. Like yourself, I used to get a lot more spam than I do now. Maybe because I have an anti-malware programme running? I do have two email accounts. One is clear of the advert.

I have three currently. One of for the family and bills and I consider it my main account. I use it for every willy nilly thing, and get lots of spam on it. That one is with yahoo. I have never really had any problem with it, but then again, Yahoo was hacked last spring, so I dunno. I change the password on it, regularly. One is just for here. It is my full profile name from this site @ and then it is a hotmail account. I believe that is the one you and I converse on. I like it because it is only for people from here and stuff like that. The other one I have is a gmail account for google/youtube and the like. That is under a nick name that I maintain, not unlike my profile name. I like that one because it is not my real name and I don't really care what if it is tracked or not. I think I have a fourth one, but I use it rarely and it is for my erotica writing. But for the moment, I am only writing and not publishing it on google blogs or on word press, and that is also under a false name. I'm not much help, but I was interested in writing about this to you. kk The observant make the best lovers, I may not do right, but I do write, I have bliss, joy, and happiness in my life, Kitkat Come check out my blog KItkat1415 check out this post by me Adventures In Body Grooming #39 April Topic Link: What Lies Beneath If April Showers Oh Bloody Hell What Kind Of Weather Turns Me On Bloggers Symposium 40

Lots of options available. If you want to avoid lots of spam don't use it for anything other than person to person type emails. It would likely be worth setting up a separate account for any websites you want you give your email to. Vive La Difference

I stopped using Yahoo a few years ago when my email was continuously spammed and using Chrome gmail ever since. Currently, I have 1 account for bills and other serious things, 1 account for my friends and 2 separate accounts for family members and Russian speaking friends. All my email accounts are with gmail. I keep my info to the bare minimum. Yes, they ask for tons of information but that doesn't mean we have to give it. I have four email accounts, two real ones, gmail and comcast and two phony ones, yahoo and gmail, kathleenmartin and kathleenmorgan Don't know what to tell you what to do, free is free and there are always strings attached, can't help you out. A carrier pigeon maybe?

My work email is the best I have but I can't use it for non-work purposes especially if it involves sex!
| ||||

I guess I meant homing pigeon, but then you'd have just as much shite to deal with as you do with BT.
| ||||

I don't mind giving minimal personal details but it's how these minimal details are used that I object to. The Internet has given rise to a surveillance society! Thanks for stopping by.
